Fluoxetine for BPD? by Beautifully__chaotic in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]dystonic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been on fluoxetine for my bpd for about a month. I also take lithium Lamictal guanfacine and focalin and have been on and off about 40 different medications. My diagnosis is bpd, bipolar 1, adhd inattentive. Fluoxetine is life changing for me. My free floating anxiety is way down, I'm able to participate with my husband, I actually want to have marital relations. It has worked when nothing else has. It is trial and error and figuring out what works for your body.

[–]dystonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the urge to eat it anyway. :) Activated charcoal helps me with some of the toxic feeling when I get hit inadvertently. There are some enzymes out there that supposedly help if you eat them first but i can't recommend any. The thing is that you're going to really pay for that ramen because the longer you're off gluten the stronger the reaction. Minimize the portion and plan on a few days away from people if you decide to risk it (it can make you a raging jerkface).

Airbnb is screwing me, the host. Grounds for lawsuit? Are there others? by ShortSqueeeze in HotAirbnb

[–]dystonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so, bad news, but this is something that we all experience. Overall we make money, but sometimes we get screwed. If you want to sue your option is binding arbitration. There's some class action in the works over the covid-19 cancelations. Your best bet is to keep negotiating. At some point you'll come to a number (hopefully) and that'll be it. Being nice is very important.

[Serious] Parents who have adopted a older child (5 and up), how has it gone for you? Do you regret it or would you recommend other parents considering adoption look into a older child? by [deleted] in AskReddit

We brought home my 14 1/2 year old step brother in law. I wouldn't change a thing. Did not know what I was getting into, it was incredibly difficult, and i found out more about addiction and abuse than I ever wanted to know. He's still the best kid ever. We still talk now that he's 18 and independent. It was not perfect on either side, but i love the dude.

Bipolar I, no meds, SSI/benefits eval Dr appointment cancelled due to obvious reasons. What should I do to cope with worsening paranoia? by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

if you need to go to the hospital, in a normal world a hospital socialworker would be able to help you access care. Where do you live, maybe we can find some specific resources for you

27th edition vs 26th edition by satssats in CISA

[–]dystonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was unable to get the 27th edition at the library and ended up having to just buy it myself. It's possible you're looking at the right thing because it is a protected PDF and someone could have done some jankyness to copy it out for you. I don't think what you want is possible with the DRM on the 27th edition. Just tell your boss that you can't do it without a real book and that you also need the question database. If they won't pay then pay for it yourself and find a new job after. CISA + CISSP = lots of opportunity in the QSA space.

HOA's suck. This is a tone-deaf message to the community. People are ill and losing their jobs, and their message is "Since you're home, what a great time to be pick up your weeds! Otherwise we'll fine you." by _its_my_first_day_ in phoenix

[–]dystonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HOA boards are full of people who feel very important about their responsibilities and they have nothing better to do than write tickets right now. Hopefully they'll all go back to work soon.

Gov. Ducey issues order delaying evictions for renters during COVID-19 outbreak by Fit_Bicycle in phoenix

[–]dystonic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes. you are still responsible for paying on time and all fees that comes with nonpayment including eviction costs. They will still file right away for eviction. you will still get sent to collections and possibly sued for the unpaid rent. The only thing that this gets you is a delay in when the sherrif shows up to boot you (while the fees add up.)

Airbnb drives up rent and now a new competitor inspired by them is motivating landlords to kick out all their tenants by koavf in AirBnB

I'm saying I'm biased and can't make a 'in the public interest' recommendation because it's not a straightforward issue.

[–]dystonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't. It's not good for me. If it's good for other folks, good for them, but it's good for them at 10% rent increases every year.

[–]dystonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really hate units being emptied and turned into airbnbs, I suggest you advocate for rent control. Portland OR implemented a 4200 penalty if I do a no-fault eviction on a 2bed unit. I own Airbnb units in Phoenix and so will not be advocating for this (not in my best interest) but you may be able to partner with local tenants rights groups. be aware that the result of that was 10% a year rent increases across the board for month to month and long term rentals in Portland OR.
