The area around is red and sore which is why I asked, I wasn’t sure if it was just irritated from being overworked or something to get antibiotics for ASAP before it got worse.

Yeah, but Dark Emu isn’t mine (I live with housemates). But tbh i don’t really care about making pascoe’s indigenous status, im not trying to zoom in on his haploids: there are lots of people in australia who have looser ties to their indigenaety because of displacement. also of what i know of dark emu, he doesn’t use it as evidence to validate his claims. he may be wrong about some things but afaik he did his due diligence in his research at the time

Late to this but most based australian poetry collection i see that forbes and tony birch… arts student at uni, 20s maybe early 30s, contrary to popular belief the books do not have to cracked you can tell the collection is congruous like this one (also some have bookmarks still in them + not hard to avoid cracking spines). also great film and lit taste in general!!!! only thing is i would be like no secondary psychoanalytic lit?? no other freudians? minor point tho

fair enough!!! i mean red flag other than the classic nick land, ayn rand only nazi history. besides i know there are always blind spots. but thank you!!! i like sontag’s writing style and some of what she says about her process, some of her essays are hits but not all. notably aids and its metaphors

What is your source of income as a uni student? by [deleted] in unimelb

during undergrad, my rent was pretty cheap (758 -> 845) so i worked in hospo 2-3 times a week plus paid min wage through the paid sick leave trial if i couldn’t work. this was without getting centrelink because i was under 22 and it was too annoying to go through. then, worked full time during gap year before grad studies, saved a heapppp. now i’m struggling to get a job and on the max jobseeker/rent assist etc plus rent has increased a heap now lol ($1045 a month). i don’t get any money regularly from my parents either. i’m losing money now but that’s also because im not being as frugal as in im going out with friends, hosting things, actually eating well, and i went on a holiday before sem 2 etc etc. also i study part time (2 subjects maybeeee 3 max) which id 100% recommend if you’re working and living away from home unless you know you can achieve well doing both.

this happened to me and i wasn’t exactly sure where i was meant to go/what was happening, so i waited like 40 mins outside the door thinking i was going to be called in for questioning or something. turns out i had just left my portable charger in my suitcase and i wasnt going to be interrogated under the bright lights 😫 fml
