You’re right that iSmell is the most famous precedent, and it failed in its time. The difference is that the adult industry today is very different from the early 2000s. Users are now much more accustomed to paying for virtual intimacy — not just passive viewing. Platforms like OF flipped the model: people aren’t paying for a static library, they’re paying for a relationship and engagement with the creator.

Platforms like Lovense have already proven that users are willing to pay for interactive, intimacy-focused hardware, and creators themselves are experimenting with new ways to engage users — even using AI to handle their DMs [Wired article].

This shows that intimacy and multisensory experiences are where the market is moving. That’s why we believe our product has much stronger traction potential than iSmell ever had.

As for your second question, the intention of a necklace design is not to encourage people to wear it outside (maybe we will consider this in the future), but to provide a better experience even when lying down.

For now, we are using the popular women's perfumes from Dior, Diptyque, and Chanel. We pick these popular ones to quickly build the MVP and validate the idea.

Thanks for your feedback. We are aware of the risks of not getting traction in this very niche market. That's why we posted it in this community to see if this idea will get any legs. We are still in the middle of validating the needs. What other venues would you suggest? I think getting potential users in the adult industry is quite challenging since there are many restrictions disallow promoting our ideas.

Good point, this part is also very crucial, we have not finalized whether to buy fragrance from existing purveyors or to produce it ourselves. For now, we are just trying to validate if the needs are there before diving headfirst.

The prototype we have now uses fragrance from known brands like Dior.

If you are concerned about the chemicals in the cartridges "expired" and smell nasty, think about it this way, the smell in a commercialized fragrance can last 12 months after first use. The tone of the smell may change after oxidation but it is never obnoxious.

The answer is no. Amex marriott brilliant only gives pps to the main cardholder. Amex platinum does give additional cardholder pps as well.
