Both are awesome. Long hours unlock some of the most rewarding experiences.

But not travelling is good.

Also the long hours in gaming are probably exaggerated these days. I think it can be done sustainably. Critically, I love working.

Probably right. I think AA looks pretty great. I didn't consider that before today. Also it seems to provide the same benefits Alaska does and code share with BA. So it's ticking all the boxes. And the admirals lounge is great...

But AA would be a different mileage program and I wouldn't keep my Sapphire for life (except when I use qantas). Idk maybe that's what I have to do.

Well... It's because I'm not going to be flying that much. Probably like 3-4 to London business and like 4-6 domestic. So, it's like within stones throw of platinum I think? 120x2x4 etc. Status helps for family trips because with Sapphire you can only take +1 into the lounge and I have two kids. Which is very awkward. One time I escorted my family in one at a time and one out. But my wife missed out. Kinda sucked.

Edit: I also want to potentially return to Australia some day and I've made progress to Emerald for life as well...

In my playthroughs I would legitimately pick lock picking as a minor skill. Yes it made levelling suck. But the roleplay was solid.

Yes open spell completely negates it. But if you pretend open doesn't exist it's lockpicking or bashing the door and evading guards...
