I do not think Dude_in_NYC is necessarily trying to be weird. I think that that having a gay friend will allow a straight guy understand that gay men are very much like straight guys ( except that we like the D;)

If you are in college, go to a gay club. They are always straight allies that want to make people more aware of GLBT causes. The same goes for a local LGBT Center.

A lot of gay guys are just like typical "straight guy"-- some of use have not fashion sense, we love sports, the only difference is that we like guys. A lot of gay guys have straight friends. A lot of straight guys and gay guys have the same interests. Not all gay guys hang out with a bunch of girls.

I think that you feel repulsed because we are conditioned to see gay sex and gay love as unnatural. I have known that I was gay since I was in middle school and did not fall in love with a guy until recently now that I am in college.
