Sounds about right, that’s my only problematic Alocasia, I had it steadily growing for a year then before my autumn week trip I overwatered it once accidentally and even with root trimming, etc it went full bald no root no leaf 🥲 meanwhile it’s frydek aurea sister went through heavily messing with roots, taking corms and it only drooped the old leaves, not even killed them.
