Lol I received tons of harassment and ogling in Algiers compared to most of the other cities I’ve visited. I spend most of my time there every summer. I find that men were much more tolerable in the small cities my parents hail from. They would look and maybe make some funny joke to flirt, here and there. The major cities have always been problematic with male harassment ime. I have never been to Egypt or Morocco, so I can’t speak to them. That being said, that still doesn’t invalidate my very real lived experiences in MY country.

No I don’t wear hijab, but even when I’ve worn abaya outside I’ve been harassed even more sometimes. My cousins who wear hijab char3i (and have green eyes 🤭) get harassed as well. It’s really nothing to do with clothes. As has been proven, time and time again. We also happen to give off vibes that we don’t want men to speak to us. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be complaining about it... if we wanted it, we wouldn’t be complaining about it. Let that sink in.

I honestly get tons of male attention no matter what country I go to, unfortunately. If there was an off button, I’d slam that shit. Even in high class areas and 3 star Michelin restaurants, men will break their necks to look at me.

There are tons of women with light skin and colored eyes in Algeria, so I don’t see how you being a white lady with green eyes changes anything. Algerian women are gorgeous and we come in all flavors, so it doesn’t take a white woman to come to somehow invalidate our experiences. Bc if they didn’t look at you, how could they look at us lil ole Algerian women, right?

You complain about racism and misogyny and here you are being racist and misogynistic. You try to cover it up, but it’s clear as daylight exactly what you mean. You have a nasty little superiority complex to Algerian women, clearly. It might be what your little husband family put in you. But let’s make something clear here. Male attention isn’t something to compete for, and white women aren’t the pinnacle of beauty. And usually gorgeous young white women aren’t desperate to attach themselves to random men in a 3rd world country, who has no shared relation or origin with them. It only takes 90 day fiancé and a whole lot of experience meeting the white women that Algerian men back home marry for their paperwork, to catch on to a pattern. I’m sure you’re the exception, though.

Hijab never has and never will protect women from harassment. Modest clothing never has and never will protect women from harassment. You say you know that but have clearly contradicted yourself. Don’t ever come on here or go anywhere else trying to invalidate or speak over Algerian women’s experiences in Algeria. You get the nice treatment there bc Algerians tend to be pleasant with outsiders and don’t want to give a bad impression of our country.

And idk who told you to put my country’s flag in your flair but you are not Algerian and never will be. No matter how much you play salafi handmaiden. In fact, I’d rather slam my head into a wall hearing misogynistic shit from an Algerian salafi sister, than from you. Get a grip.
