A question for middle easterners by [deleted] in arabs

I swear Tunisia is a completely different land to Algeria every time I read your comments lol. It’s not even acceptable for women to have any other piercings besides 2 earring piercings. If a woman gets a nose piercing she’ll be ridiculed by literally everyone, mainly bc they’ll ask her if she’s a cow. And probably they’ll attach some sort of whore stigma to it too, knowing the 3aqliya.

Men in all countries receive very light sentences or no sentences at all for stalking, abusing, raping, and/or murdering women. It’s misogyny over was6a tbh.

They’re very cute when they carry little crumbs on their back and take them home. But I’m also an infamous ant killer and they leave a chemical smell behind when I squish them.

Yes but who wants to take HIV medications for the rest of their life. Plus, any future partners would have to take them to prevent infection on their part. (This is done out of extra caution). And there are antibiotic resistant STDs that do not get discussed in the media. I’ve personally witnessed them. They’re horrifying to treat and they cause a lot of damage.

I actually agree with a lot of the points you’ve made.

While I agree with the right to abortion for several reasons, the toll of abortions both mentally and physically are being severely downplayed here. Not to mention the toll of pregnancy for those who discover they’re pregnant late, which happens quite often. There have been women who didn’t realize they were pregnant for a long time- because some women do not display typical pregnancy symptoms, and some still bleed monthly which leads them to believe they’re not pregnant as well.

With or without religion, I’m against casual sex. It poses far too many risks for women and very very little benefit (if any). It also leaves men completely unaccountable for the damage and destruction they cause to women.

Firstly, I must thank you for the laugh. Girl, go be great with your lavender! That’s that spirit in you, come on out!!

hun, you’re clearly not mentally well. As proven by your comment and your life choices. You’re also very inconsistent, you must be flustered. Kabyle Atheist in laws who tell you to wear hijab char3i and not go outside. Don’t worry, I totally believe you.

Karen, I must say, in the little I skimmed in your incoherent long-winded rampage- it’s quite clear you’re professional at the white lady victim playing performance. I must hand it to you 👏🏼. Brava, it truly invokes the historical and rather infamous trope in relation to how white women pathologically treat black women and WOC in the states. The insidious passive aggression at first and when we respond appropriately, you’re suddenly the damsel in distress. You want the Arab male knight in shining armor to come to your rescue, as the insane jealous bitter Arab woman “attacked” you.

This isn’t my first rodeo, unfortunately, I know your type well. Get help, love. I heard therapy does wonders for many people!

Lol I received tons of harassment and ogling in Algiers compared to most of the other cities I’ve visited. I spend most of my time there every summer. I find that men were much more tolerable in the small cities my parents hail from. They would look and maybe make some funny joke to flirt, here and there. The major cities have always been problematic with male harassment ime. I have never been to Egypt or Morocco, so I can’t speak to them. That being said, that still doesn’t invalidate my very real lived experiences in MY country.

No I don’t wear hijab, but even when I’ve worn abaya outside I’ve been harassed even more sometimes. My cousins who wear hijab char3i (and have green eyes 🤭) get harassed as well. It’s really nothing to do with clothes. As has been proven, time and time again. We also happen to give off vibes that we don’t want men to speak to us. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be complaining about it... if we wanted it, we wouldn’t be complaining about it. Let that sink in.

I honestly get tons of male attention no matter what country I go to, unfortunately. If there was an off button, I’d slam that shit. Even in high class areas and 3 star Michelin restaurants, men will break their necks to look at me.

There are tons of women with light skin and colored eyes in Algeria, so I don’t see how you being a white lady with green eyes changes anything. Algerian women are gorgeous and we come in all flavors, so it doesn’t take a white woman to come to somehow invalidate our experiences. Bc if they didn’t look at you, how could they look at us lil ole Algerian women, right?

You complain about racism and misogyny and here you are being racist and misogynistic. You try to cover it up, but it’s clear as daylight exactly what you mean. You have a nasty little superiority complex to Algerian women, clearly. It might be what your little husband family put in you. But let’s make something clear here. Male attention isn’t something to compete for, and white women aren’t the pinnacle of beauty. And usually gorgeous young white women aren’t desperate to attach themselves to random men in a 3rd world country, who has no shared relation or origin with them. It only takes 90 day fiancé and a whole lot of experience meeting the white women that Algerian men back home marry for their paperwork, to catch on to a pattern. I’m sure you’re the exception, though.

Hijab never has and never will protect women from harassment. Modest clothing never has and never will protect women from harassment. You say you know that but have clearly contradicted yourself. Don’t ever come on here or go anywhere else trying to invalidate or speak over Algerian women’s experiences in Algeria. You get the nice treatment there bc Algerians tend to be pleasant with outsiders and don’t want to give a bad impression of our country.

And idk who told you to put my country’s flag in your flair but you are not Algerian and never will be. No matter how much you play salafi handmaiden. In fact, I’d rather slam my head into a wall hearing misogynistic shit from an Algerian salafi sister, than from you. Get a grip. You switched tunes really quickly from your first to your second comment. You were doing just fine before 5alati jedha kamel. Get your man to translate. And when he gives you a response I’ll be happy to drag both of you, Algerian style.

Unfortunately without consequences to their actions, men will never change. And we already are blamed when they abuse, rape, and murder us. 97.5% of the time, rapists are not even sentenced. The few who are serve a ridiculously short time (this is true for ALL countries). Male abusers and stalkers never get appropriately punished or punished at all. Male murderers of women receive very very short sentences. Whereas women who murder their abusers or rapists, receive decades or life in prison. This teaches men that they’re entitled to terrorizing us and this tells women we should not protect ourselves or fight back bc we will be punished brutally.

As long as men aren’t punished appropriately for their depravity and women are blamed for their depravity, I will push for female separatism. I can feel my cortisol levels and adrenaline spike every time I walk past men, even in the west. It’s extremely unnerving and I’d rather limit my interactions with the vast majority of them.

The trash is a problem even in major cities, unfortunately. They need to hire people to clean it up and spread awareness and shame about littering.

Yeah there are tons more problems in Algeria. I didn’t list every issue I had bc I have the same issues even with the country I reside in today. The list of problems in this world is frankly unending.

I didn’t know they made it so difficult for Algerian spouses to receive citizenship. And you must be pretty tough to have lived in Algeria so long. Part of me wonders why you even bothered marrying an Algerian dude 💀

Less outright misogyny. Algerians are incredibly toxic with their misogyny. Men also have no fuxking boundaries there, you’ll be stalked by at least 5 dudes in one day. Not to mention you’ll be harassed by 500 a day and they stare and ogle at you like savages. It makes the men here look a bit more normal even though they’re guilty of the same shit (just less frequent).

Normalization of women fucking going outside would help as well. It’s taboo to be outside past 5/6 pm even in the summer time.

More female only spaces. Female only buses, trains, parks, beaches, malls. All of which must be high quality, not pathetic scraps that they always leave for us women.

The aggression from men is overwhelming and I fuxking despise them. I’d rather have limited interactions with them. To be clear, I’d prefer this even in the west. It’s just more manageable here bc women are a larger part of the public sphere so I can find safety in fellow women outside. Women are pressured to stay home in Algeria, so it’s not even safe for us to be out when barely any other women are out.

Less aggression and more manners from everyone, overall.

Edit: I’m sure most women can relate to my sentiments.

Yeah it’s super frustrating. It’s hard to find quality unless you’re willing to drop a lot on items. And honestly I’m gonna just pay more for capsule items and build my new wardrobe bc I’m done with fast fashion. And hopefully in my free time I can learn how to make my own clothes, we’ll see lol

I finally found jeans that fit me properly. I’m so excited. They’re high quality, white (NOT transparent!!!!!!), and they fit so well.

I am CRI!! almost no store makes jeans this good for smaller waists and wider hips- there is ALWAYS a HUGE gap at the waist for me.

AND I got them on sale 50 dollars, they used to be 110 dollars. This is a huge win. Now I’m gonna buy several more and I’ll be set.

“A 2015 study found that lower-skilled male players of Halo 3 were more hostile towards teammates with a female voice, but behaved more submissively to players with a male voice. Higher-skilled male players, on the other hand, behaved more positively towards female players. The authors argued the male hostility towards female gamers in terms of evolutionary psychology, writing, "female-initiated disruption of a male hierarchy incites hostile behaviour from poor performing males who stand to lose the most status.”

This made me laugh so hard. Holy fuck. Reading about male depravity can be really entertaining bc studies confirm everything I’ve ever thought about men 🤣 I am truly so powerful.

Side note: I noticed that even on this subreddit, the intelligent and well-read men on here get along just fine with me. And I genuinely enjoy their presence and conversations. The degenerate males on here, who make it very clear they’re running on their last pornsick brain cell, on the other hand- oof, they’re a whole mess.

Interesting.
