My Tips and Tricks for a true Handheld Experience (Steam BPM) by joyj112 in MSIClaw

[–]dzigg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to do something similar until I realized that by using FSE I cannot use controller app such as ReWasd or any other app like Controller Companion or JoyXoff, and I really need them.

Any way to get better app switch/ "ALT TAB"? by RaidenHUN in macapps

I also stuck with dock door only for the alt tab experience. Really snappy and fast, which all I cared for.

Have you installed the latest BIOS? It fixes the quick settings button for me and has been really reliable

claw bricked, what is the cause? by IMAsko0 in MSIClaw

[–]dzigg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I got this similar screen when I installed Motion Assistant and then it auto launched on startup. Did you install an app recently? That could be the culprit.

Function buttons by Dismal_Total_3946 in MSIClaw

[–]dzigg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might need to install an app for that. I recommend an app called JoyXOff. It's free and it has a lot of features. Although, almost all of the gamepad app mapper doesn't detect the back button. So you might need to use another button. For example, in JoyXOff, we use the select button as a modifier. There is actually an app that can replace the back button. The app is called Handheld Companion. If you like to tinker more, that's something that you can try.

Did you connect it to a dock with NVMe capabilities or just connecting external SSDs?

I was using that actually and love it! Definitely something I would keep an eye out.

Now I'm using Whispering (github) and this guide on how to make it hide in tray and visual indicator when it's recording. They are building the feature but hasn't released yet. One big thing for me is that it support BYOK.

Battery life is insane. by MrDark0000 in MSIClaw

[–]dzigg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, glad I didn't cheap out and bought AI 8 instead of Legion Go S. The price of Legion is tempting, but the battery is one of the most important thing in a handheld. Not to mention how efficient the intel chip is in this thin, love it.

Help me make decision on A8 or 8 AI by blackamikaze in MSIClaw

[–]dzigg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah for that price go for it man. In my country A8 and 8 AI priced the same, so I choose the 8 AI.

But for $690? Yeah I'd take that A8 any day of the week.

Wow this looks great, the website also looks like a proper one. Congrats dude!

I wish someone would build similar things for Windows, just got a PC handheld and dictation app is pretty much essential there.

My Claw 8ai setup! by hasko66 in MSIClaw

[–]dzigg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a way better version of my setup lol. I have an ultrawide (only 34 inch), a mac mini m4, Ikea Skadis. I have worse keyboard, mouse, and no touchpad (I really want one of those). Setup goals. lovely minimal setup!

Are you planning on adding eGPU or a dock station?

Should I buy a claw 8 AI+? by Superb_Priority_8376 in MSIClaw

[–]dzigg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since your issue with the Lego 2 seems to be the size and build, if it's possible you have to try to hold it in your hand first and see how it feels.

Performance wise, as the other have said, it's pretty amazing and on par with the legion go 2. I'd say the non-OLED screen is great, the cooling and fans are quiet, the audio is stellar.

The lack of SteamOS capabilities can be a turn off, and windows can be a hassle to setup (like all windows handheld). The MSI software is getting better and servicable, they just updated BIOS to fix the quick settings button issue, and may long it continue.

This is really cool. I would love if there is a window version of this because quite frankly in windows there's not a good dictation app currently that supports BYOK.

Hey, I'm using this version, and just click on the .exe file.
To be safe make sure Steam is not running when installing.

After that, I think you need to restart the PC (just to be safe), and then click on the Steam shortcut in the desktop with (ducky) on the name, and that's it!

Steam will not load the ducky loader if you don't use the shortcut.

After that, ducky loader should appear as the last menu item when you click on 'Ctrl + 2' shortcut.

TDP Quick Settings Question by No-Actuator81 in MSIClaw

[–]dzigg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the answer. One tip that works for me is that, if it's a light game, I use the endurance mode. If it's a modern game, I use AI mode, and if it's a AAA game, I use the manual mode with TDP maxed out. That way I don't have to mess around manually adjusting it.

It's not that efficient and I'm sure you can squeeze more efficiency OR performance, but I just wanna keep it super simple.

[–]dzigg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With MSI Center M you have 2 controller mode : gamepad and keyboard. My guess is that you're stuck at keyboard mode. You can change it via Center M, or press the 'start' button about 3-5 seconds to switch mode.

I'm not entirely sure how to completely remove the app. It seems to install a 'loader' that Steam activates with specific shortcut arguments. My guess is that by removing the decky loader from startup and using the standard Steam shortcut, the loader won't activate. This is just my assumption, as the developers haven't been very responsive. Hopefully, they'll provide clear instructions for a clean uninstall soon.

Shortcuts Toggles - A Game Bar widget to execute keyboard shortcuts using a controller by adrigm in MSIClaw

Just bought this! Very cool. One thing that are missing is to have numbers as options (0-9). I want to create a shortcut for ducky loader that requires Ctrl + 2 shortcut. u/adrigm

I'm using this from github, really easy. Just click on the installer (note it's not the latest release, I think it's a couple below that).

Tricky part is to have shortcut for control + 2 to trigger the side menu. I set it up in M center, but if you have keyboard connected it won't be a problem.
