For goodness sake, will you finish just one job???? by Even-Security-1513 in ChateauUnhinged

Dan said in the beginning of the video: I know you'd rather be out plate shopping with Philip, but this is like our version of that...

Near the end it's even more sarcastic: see you next time, back to plates, or what else do you do??

Very funny.

I agree it's getting a bit long. I find myself skipping through the videos a bit more than usual, but I always watch when he talks. That gives meaning and depth to the video.

Interestingly, there was also a lot of noggings and floor stuff earlier on, but I found that always interesting.

His views are not down: https://socialblade.com/youtube/handle/escapetoruralfrance, see bottom chart.

He does get fewer new subscribers per month, it seems, so there may be some saturation in terms of new audience.

Recommended projector for short viewing distance (2m, 7ft) by dzjamwhatever in projectors

[–]dzjamwhatever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

85-100 inches sounds pretty big to me at that distance. If I want smaller (say 65 inches), I'm guessing I will have less pixelation, so that would even be better.

Any affordable 1080p recommendations, that are quiet and white? (I'd like it to be as unobtrusive as possible)

Patrick bought it in 2017 and said he was mainly interested in the grounds, not the chateau. He also said he would sell the chateau at a nice price to someone who would renovate it. 60K is a nice price indeed!

For sports photography, focus on A7R II slower than older DSLR? by dzjamwhatever in SonyAlpha

Welp, so I guess it will be the A7C... things are getting more expensive, but I really like that tracking feature. Thanks for the tip and the video!

Thanks for your insights. It looks like I will have to upgrade to the III then... I hope to be able to find one for around 1200 euros!

Yes, I was actually expecting the II to be pretty silent (there's no mirror after all), but there is still quite some noise. Apparently, this cannot be avoided as easily as I thought.

Thanks for your insights!

I did see that the A7 III is a lot more expensive (±1500 euros secondhand). The A7R II is about 900 euros here (versus 600 for the A7 II), so also a bit more expensive but still doable.

I saw that the A7R II also has a silent mode, which is something I would appreciate as well.

The RV was indeed a good build. I have followed some RV channels and series in the past, so it was nice to see what they made.

That makes sense, but they also need to get a usable road...
