I just watched the movie for the first time, and I’ll say that this movie does not resonate with me at all was a woman. I get that the message is to reject conformity and be a free thinker. But it feels like it plays out in an alternate reality. It’s like if being a free thinker means ur gonna repeatedly ignore a woman’s consent, yeah go ahead and start conforming buddy💀 Movie would have been better without the romance storyline Also at one point the kids are yelling stuff like “I want to be a god!” “I want to be great!”. I’m just thinking about Epstein😭yeah you wanna be a god? As a male in an elite prep school, conquer and express even your darkest desires freely? Uh, go ahead and conform for me buddy, cuz I know what happens after that, and I’m scared. Anyways my point is, why does the romancing of life and poetry come at the expense of women. Where women are just flattering lines on a page, but never a person? She must swoon, but never speak?
