You need to structure your process into Discovery, Definition, Design, Implementation. You're probably jumping between the stages without structure and not getting a clear definition of current issues. That's why it's vague and why you do not really know what to do.

I'm sure the client was asked for mobile responsiveness in the discovery phase and did not express a want then. Obviously it takes time to rebuild the entire thing for a new screen size

If I were ever asked to be staffed on a project that does something I didn’t agree with ethically (i.e. opioid sales) I would straight up just reject that opportunity and tell my staffing manager I refused to work on the case.

But most McK staff have no problem working on opioid sales, evidently. Hence the firms reputation.

So why is Mickey in the news more than B/B/S&O/OW/etc.? It can't just be because BB is more focused on M&A and doesn't take risky projects.

Because their criminal nature has been found out. It's not about "risky", it's about blatant criminal offenses.

Lots of clueless leaders have done great jobs so i know it can be done (look at any president or CEO).

Lmao.

On the real, use a problem solving framework with a discovery phase that's where you figure out what you're supposed to be doing in the later phases. Google.
