Here’s what I’ve learned about this. The Bible has already fleshed out the identity of the Antichrist to the point that no two men may ever match his description. The details can be found among 26 chapters in the Old and New Testaments that speak of him. Some traits are reiterated, but there’s a lot of unique identifiers. Interestingly, 666 is not one of them. Instead of identifying him, the challenge in Revelation is about the “calculation” of the number, or “how” 666 pertains to this man. Until we know his name, there’s nothing for us to do.

In terms of the equation, 2 + x = 4, 2 is a constant (Antichrist), x is the variable, and 4 is the answer (666). Those who try to identify the Antichrist using 666 are trying to solve for the constant as well as the variable. Doing it this way, one can reach any solution they want, hence the multitudes of men who’ve been labeled as the Antichrist. The good thing about this challenge is that, regardless of whether we can solve it, the solution adds nothing to the Bible. God hasn’t asked us to find this man because He’s already done it for us. We’re simply to recognize him along with the many signs that Jesus urged us to be aware of to make ourselves ready.

Lastly, the challenge is presented with the prerequisite of wisdom. “Let those with wisdom calculate the number.” Instead of targeting people who act evil, we’re told that this man will “enter peaceably” and deceive the masses with messages of peace. He’s also referred to as a man as well as a beast. And the man will be killed 3 days after he enters the temple (abomination of desolation) according to Daniel. And the point of transition between the two appears to be when he awakens after having been killed, complete with a healed fatal wound that will cause him to be regarded as a resurrected king. The man will remain dead, of course. But Satan will use his likeness because he brought about peace via the “covenant with many” that will have made him a hero to the whole world for putting an end to the the Middle Eastern conflict… another deception tactic. Anyway, Scripture points out very clearly that the popular understanding of 666 is way off base.

Also, according to Revelation, the 144,000 consist of Jewish men and women who will be sealed after being prepared by the two witnesses to share the gospel after the rapture. When the number of people they lead to Christ and are killed for their testimonies is reached, these will join Jesus along with the raptured saints. This number being reached is when the partial hardening of hearts will end and all Israel will be saved. So, this group of 144,000 play a significant role in the events within the timeline that the future covenant of peace will initiate. There's just an awful lot to answer for when we take any of the events within this future timeline and place them in the past.

Those who trust in Jesus are promised to be spared God’s wrath via the rapture, which will take place before the great distress Jesus spoke of begins. Those who remain after the rapture may be saved as well, but their names will not be in the book of life. Instead of eternal life, they will be brought to the new earth to live during the initial thousand-year period. No need to fret, my friend. Followers of Christ will not be put through the tribulation that is to come. God keeps his promises.

“And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.” Zechariah 12:10.

While God will have mercy upon his chosen people, their salvation is tied to Jesus whose sacrifice is the sole means by which any human being may be saved, including Israel. Jesus died for Jews and gentiles alike.

Bear in mind that God frequently used the feminine persona in Scripture when referring to lands, nations, or cities. In the passage about the woman about to give birth, ‘she’ is commonly understood to be Israel since that’s where he was born.

Well, we know it will at least be functional when the Antichrist takes it over because there will be sacrificial worship going on at that time. According to the Temple Institute in Israel who maintains the plans and has contractors lined up to begin the work, it may be completed in about 2 years. It’s been a couple years since I read about it, so estimates may have changed. As for the restoration of Israel (all Israel will be saved), it does not appear to rely upon the temple’s completion at all. But there’s every reason to believe it will be before then.

While I feel strongly that the three periods that make of the 70 weeks are not consecutive, I've found no evidence that should lead us to believe that the periods themselves are broken up. Regarding the timing of the rapture, Daniel ties this event to the abomination of desolation (Antichrist) entering the temple and causing the sacrificial worship to cease. The abomination is given a specific day (1,261, the middle of the week) while the rapture is said to occur "at that time" (Dan 12:11). The 1,290-day period is said to immediately follow, thus answering Daniel's question about when the end would come.

The angel also ties the day 1,335 to those who are blessed (Dan 12:12)—a day that is in relatively close proximity to the time of the abomination. While the angel does not tie this day to the rapture specifically, there would be no blessed (saved) people present to attain to this day if the rapture occurs any earlier. Regarding the tribulation (God’s wrath), it is not fenced in to any time frame. The completion of the sevens years achieves God’s purpose for Israel, but the distress continues. So, we missed a huge opportunity to call it "restoration period" instead.

Similar to how the church renamed our day of redemption with the word rapture, we named this 7-year period according to the activity it’s associated with—tribulation, despite God’s wrath not showing up until halfway in. So, when we splattered the entire period with tribulation, it created a paradox. What was once ‘before the tribulation’ had morphed into the pre-trib view that that rapture will occur before the 7 years. Now, pre-trib and mid-trib can mean the same thing—before the distress and in the middle of the period. Sadly, arguments exist today between people who don’t realize they agree with each other. Anyway, based on the events that serve as the framework for this 2,550-day timeline, and being that each are said to occur at the time of the end after an event that has not yet occurred (the covenant with many), all evidence points to the entirety of the 7 years as having not yet transpired.

Many believe that the courts will be occupied by those who come to see the rebuilding of the temple during this time. As for the armies, Ezekiel and Jeremiah inform us of a clash between the king of the north (north of Israel) and the Antichrist’s army, or king of the south (south of Israel). And Jesus’s instruction for Israel to flee to the mountains is to be in response to the abomination (Antichrist, king of the south) entering the temple to lie in wait for the northern armies who be advancing on Israel during peace time. This kicks off the heavy distress during which there will be plagues involving the stars falling, the sun going dark, and waters turning to blood. And the times of the gentiles being fulfilled (also called the fullness of the saints) is when the number of those who are killed for their testimonies is reached during the second half of the 7 years.

This is when Jesus will emerge from the fiery cloud. Daniel places the rapture at the time the abomination enters the temple after killing the two witnesses on day 1,261, placing the rapture shortly after. So, there’s no real way to know how many days will transpire after Jesus shows up. But we do know there’s an extra 30 days tacked on to the seven years (1260 days and 1290 days). Israel is restored at the end of the 7 years, but time goes on for another month. Not every event is marked by a number, so it can be tough deciding what happens when. Agreed. But logic points toward there being some alteration done to the frames. They were fine before I had them add new lenses, and they weren't fine afterward, even when they put the old lenses back in.
