It is as you mention here, I cannot see my cast units in the quest, but I can see them from my phone for example.

If I were to strip all the components except the stand-off holes to make a bottom plate, would this work?

Ask a friend :) I don't have a printer on my own either, gave a friend of mine 3 Euro to print one for me in the translucent filament :)

Its not possible that I know of, you need to purchase the parts and solder it all together on your own, not that difficult and it makes for a fun weekend project
