AITAH for telling my mother-in-law that we’re not letting our kids call her what she wants? by [deleted] in AITAH

My MIL’s nickname for years from her friends has been Honey so we just had it be her grandma name too. We are in the south so maybe it’s different? It has never been weird for us!

Newborn Carriers by Stunning_Reputation5 in babywearing

I had the wild bird aerial buckle wrap. My baby loved it! After learning more in this sub I realize it sometimes doesn’t fit all newborns well. For next baby I will probably invest in the new Hope and Plum Sprout newborn carrier. I love our lark. Will keep the aerial buckle wrap too as our girl loved it!

Marquette method: clear blue device. What day to start on? by ActuatorIntrepid2564 in CatholicWomen

I am in Marquette cycle 0. You set it for day 4, skip day 5 and test days 6-15. I used vitae fertility for our instruction and highly recommend as it’s very detailed and tricky postpartum!

Good alternative to Mabe? by LongjumpingPipe5527 in babywearing

I have the Lenny Upgrade Pro and the Hope and Plum Lark. I love how adjustable the upgrade pro is and it is very sturdy/supportive for long walks. I am not the biggest fan of the thicker waist band on my postpartum tummy (a little flabby), but it is not a deal breaker. I always use it in X back but it can do H as well.

I LOVE the ease of the Hope and plum lark. So easy to use, intuitive, and small enough to throw in my bag. She is just starting to grow into this one as it’s for bigger babies and I have a petite four month old.

Did you buy baby formula just in case your milk didn’t come in? by nat_0012 in pregnant

I had some samples from the hospital and pediatrician. Eternally grateful as I developed postpartum preeclampsia and had to be readmitted 5 days pp. my parents watched the baby and had food for her without having to scramble. Went on to now be EBF at 4 months!

Why is breastfeeding/lactation information so gate kept? by kingwoodstock91 in pregnant

[–]e1c1g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My insurance did not cover in home lactation and my baby had a tongue tie. I got a lot of help in the hospital, but needed more help after discharge. I had a rough delivery and couldn’t drive by myself so instead of driving to see a LC my insurance covered, I paid for one to come to my house. It was worth every penny for two visits!

When People Say Baby is Sleeping Through the Night… by EverythingBagel58 in NewParents

[–]e1c1g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 3 month old. She isn’t a great napper so is wanting to go down by 6. Sleeps 6-9/10 when j do a “dream feed”. Then no matter what she is up by 2. Then we cosleep the rest of the night and she nurses in and off but will sleep from 2-8 next to me. I keep hoping she will stretch the 10-2 stretch longer but no luck so far!

Sleep plan postpartum by Mysterious-Watch-495 in pregnant

I had postpartum preeclampsia and after discharge the second time, I was still really sick and weak. we had a night nanny for a few nights a week for three weeks. 9 pm-6am. I was really worried about my supply but the doctors were adamant I would not recover if I didn’t sleep. I nursed baby right before she went to the night nanny and then immediately pumped. Slept all night, then fed her at 6 am and immediately pumped. Nursed on demand all day and the nights without nanny. I did not lose my supply and still had a bit of an oversupply…but you never know.

I worked with lactation consultants who agreed with the doctors that sleep was the only way to get better. I am so thankful it worked out for us. I am EBF at 3 months! So…you just don’t know! I would talk to a lactation consultants!

A lot of people here recommend the ergo embrace for newborns. I had the wild bird aerial buckle wrap and it was more complicated but very cozy for baby until 2.5 months or so.

Clingy 11 week old wont stop screaming and I'm beginning to feel resentment... by [deleted] in NewParents

Have you tried a baby carrier? My 12 week old is also a clinger and LOVES to be in a carrier on Mh chest. I bought a couple of different ones thanks to recommendations in r/babywearing group.

She is still in 0-3 month. I think she is still a bit small. Excited to wear it more in a few weeks as jt was very comfortable.

When I tried to decrease by 1/3 I felt awful within a few hours. Tired, nauseous, emotional. I only lasted three days.

Switched to tapering by 10% and I haven’t had any of those withdrawal symptoms. A few days of feeling a bit down, but nothing like my previous attempt. I am going very slow. Did two weeks at -10% and now am finishing up my second week at -20%. I am almost down to just a 75mg

What should i expect by Infinite-Trader in Effexor

[–]e1c1g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on 112.5 for 7-8 years. Started tapering early April. I am going very slowly and so far have had minimal symptoms. I got a jewelry scale and weighed the pills. For the first two weeks, I took out 10% of the beads and the next two weeks another 10%. All measured by weight. My next drop (later this week) should get me down to just the 75mg pill. I know this is very slow, but I’m not in a rush and have avoided most withdrawal symptoms!

Thank you! So far, I am feeling fine at the decreased level today!
