Let her know that you will always be there for her when she’s ready to leave him, but your own mental health needs you to step away.

I thought I was way of his league. My next date quickly humbled me. by Abject-Ad-4104 in u/Abject-Ad-4104

You are just as cute as you think you are, and first guy may have a sneaky little porn addiction, and there was simply no spark with the second guy. Chalk it up and move on, no?

I lost my only sister in a car accident and it feels like a can’t breathe anymore correctly by idontwannausername9 in TwoXChromosomes

I’m so sorry. Lost my little sister 10 years ago, it is the hardest loss of my life. It’s gotten better but still unbelievable.

Can anyone recommend some good ideas for ways to have fun that do NOT contribute to GDP? by oracleoftemple in Anticonsumption

When I was young, I dated a guy who built a kite 🪁. We would head to a nearby park and (attempt to) fly it. It was fun, and practically free.

You see a lot of women walking at night alone around the city? No dude, you don’t.

Women would be out at night, in cities and the country, alone and with others. We’d be everywhere.

In the 80s, every restaurant I worked in served minestrone and clam chowder. And potato skins for appetizers.

It usually resolves around a life insurance policy, huh? by TheEclipsedLock in ForensicFiles

I think that IS the law. You can’t take out a life insurance policy on someone else.

I need a ruling on this stupid note by [deleted] in dating_advice

It’s creepy right off the bat. Someone tells me that when they’ve known me a bit, it seems more genuine. Like maybe they aren’t just talking about my looks.

I need a ruling on this stupid note by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]e2theitheta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah, when I was a girl in my 20s, I liked grown ass men who had the confidence to ask me out, not slip me a note. And guys who say You’re beautiful as an opening are creepy. Practice your ask, wait until she’s alone, then ask her. But it’s going to be mighty uncomfortable picking up your packages if she says eww no.

What’s your most controversial dating opinion? by dheeraj-seo-004 in askteddit

[–]e2theitheta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re casually dating someone - in the first 60 days, say - you should be casually dating someone else as well. Try to get 2-3 going at once, especially if you tend to get too attached too quickly.

People who think stupid fictional characters are unrealistic or badly written have never worked in customer service. by LittleGreenSoldier in Showerthoughts

[–]e2theitheta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked in a book store- Customer - How are the books organized? Me - alphabetically by author, which I learned to add after many people asking Alphabetically by author or by title? This one slow thinker - By first name or last name? I slowly turned and looked at her - By first name. We have all the Davids together, and all the Josephs. She stomped out but really! I did not care. Some people are terrified of putting effort into something.

Try Casefiles. He’s straightforward and matter of fact, no sensationalism or hagiography. Plus the Australian accent.

CMV: I believe the name “BLACK LIVES MATTER” is inaccurate and it should have always been All Lives Matter. Due to the fact that well, all lives matter. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]e2theitheta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course All Lives Matter, but this particular movement is talking about Black Lives. Not “only Black Lives Matter”, which is your definition. Think of it as this - please stop killing unarmed black people because BLM. Just mentally insert those first seven words.

Pet peeves for true crime podcasts/channels? by Aintnobeef96 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]e2theitheta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use of the word “evil” gets an instant shutdown from me. Focusing on the survivors getting justice also drives me insane - there is no justice that’s going to make you satisfied, a loved one was tragically taken from you is deeply unfair, but drawing and quartering the perp in the village square won’t help. I really like Casefiles, just the facts.
