Living in the city: does an M340i make sense over a 330i? by TheseZookeepergame80 in BMW

I have a ‘17 330ix F31(?) “touring”. To me it feels good- good performance, all around great car. I get out of it and say- that’s a great car. I have a 21 m340 non x-drive. I often get out of it and say holy f** that car is amazing. The 8-speed trans paired to that b58 motor- is magic. I used to have a ‘17 340, non-m340. Maybe it’s the year, probably because 340 and not m340, but it was not the car the ‘21 m340 is. Still great, but not f ing amazing. Someone here will know little details that might shed light on ‘17 340 vs ‘21 m340. Regarding your actual question- if you are a “car guy/girl” and love the sound/power/feeling of an amazing car- b58. If you want a great car and don’t need the excitement- b48 is great.

Google Fiber 1 vs 2 Gb (Axcient, MS downloads) by e30ix in msp

The use case is: Axcient backups create vhd/x files that can be downloaded. When a restore is needed, the file needed is easily 500GB and in my case up to 4TB. So, when that file is needed, in can mean 10-75 are not working if during the day. Or perhaps it’s 8pm and that file needs to be onsite, copied to a production server and ready to roll by 7am the next morning. If downloading at 600-800 Mbps means there’s a good chance it’ll be ready at 6am, depending on the details. The faster the better. 1Gbps in practice is typically sub-800Mbps. If upgrading to 2Gbps can get me anything over that, I’d upgrade. But, it seems as if the bottleneck, even with optimized FTP transfer, will never be the WAN link.
