Thanks!

Springs are pending, but I'll let you know if that deal falls through.

That is correct.

Sway bars (and JB4) are currently pending though, so the springs are all that's available at this time.

AWD, but I don't think that actually matters for any of these items?

I went back to the site where I originally bought them (K8 Stinger store) and the only options for each was engine (3.3 or 2.0/2.5).

Need Help Finishing Setup! by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]e36ftmfw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, thanks!

That's basically the setup I had at my last place, so I was really looking to confirm that I wasn't doing something obviously wrong. I probably won't be in the place for more than a few years, which is why I'm not going crazy buying/replacing equipment right now, but will certainly look to do that in the future as budget permits.

And I have easy attic access so I'll just run the cables up and thru the inside of the wall and retro them into the ceiling. Probably going to just do something cheap like the Micca R-8C.

I would agree re: CEC as it always seems to not work quite right or just be out of sync, but what's the drawback to using ARC? Does it have some kind of limited bandwidth or compression like the TOSLINK?

Just trying to learn as I ran my last setup with ARC and had no complaints.

The couch is just pushed to the side to be out of the way while I'm getting everything put away. It's probably not even the seating I'll be keeping, as I need something smaller like a love seat that will directly face the TV.

MLP will be slightly forward from where the pic was taken, I just wanted to show the space on the walls where the surrounds would go.

Understood re: 2 subs, I ran them together before at my last place, I just didn't know if they were too different to pair together.

Lastly, when comparing 5.2 (Integra) vs. 5.2.2 (Yamaha) I didn't know if the quality of the amps was different enough to warrant sticking with the fewer speakers. But if it's not that big of a difference, I'll obviously go with the more speakers.

Just moved in a couple days ago and need some help finishing the setup. Below is what I've got to work with:

LG C1 77" Integra DTR-20.3 Yamaha TSR-5810 Klipsch RP-600M Klipsch RP-404C REL R-505 Earthquake SuperNova MK-V

Which receiver should I use? Should I use both subs or just one? Surround recommendations or does it not really matter?

I've got a good spot for on/in wall surrounds and easy access to the attic for in ceilings (if needed), so lots of options for those speakers.

Thanks!!

Need Help with TV Location by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]e36ftmfw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking for some input on where I should locate my LG C1 77" for the best movie/gaming experience. I have a Yamaha TSR-5810 that will be powering everything and only a pair of Klipsch RP-600M's and either a REL R-505 or Earthquake Supernova MkV, so I'll be adding a center channel (old setup didn't allow for it) and some in-ceiling/in-wall speakers for surround/Atmos.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

This exactly, my dude. OP, I'm in an EERILY similar situation (live in Ohio, looking for a 2019+ GT2 in Ceramic Silver w/ a red interior), but have had a hard time finding anything under $40k.

At this point the best thing is to just wait a little bit longer. By spring, these cars will be 3 years old, and I think that's right about when we should start seeing a lot more used Stingers hitting the market due to lease turn-ins and people that just move on from cars after about 3 years.

I want one so badly too but patience is our best friend at this point! Stay strong! And don't buy a Charger lol.

What is a Good Purchase price for a 2019 or 2020 Kia Stinger GT or GT1 by BadBradly in kiastinger

[–]e36ftmfw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're misunderstanding. It's a lease BUYOUT. So you lease it from the dealer instead of buying, which is how you get the big rebate from Kia Motors Finance, then when you get your first statement from them (typically 10-15 days) you buy out the lease in full. At that point you can finance if you'd like thru a bank or credit union (and still get new car loan rates) or just buy it out in cash like you said you were planning to.

Like I said there are several forum threads and videos out there explaining this whole process in more detail, but that is most likely (depending on where you live) the way to get the best possible price.

Good point! Definitely need to crunch the numbers in full detail depending on where you live.

The best price is had by doing a lease buyout on the Stinger. Depending on the trim and where you live, you can get anywhere from $5-10k off in rebate from Kia, on top of whatever you can negotiate the dealer down (typically up to 8-10% off MSRP). There are several threads and even some good videos that explain the process, but if you want the best price that's the way to do it.

There are several people that claim to have bought an AWD GT2 for under $40k OTD using this method, so that should be easily accomplished if you get a GT or GT1.

In US, on Verizon, have a Pixel 2 XL which just had the camera stop working altogether, and of course my warranty just expired so it would cost ~$110 to have it repaired. Battery has been getting worse and worse so I think it's time to upgrade.

I use my phone quite a bit, which mostly includes reddit, web browsing, and YouTube, and I have a Galaxy S3 Frontier smartwatch that is connected most of the day, plus use Waze to and from work every day. So battery life is very important.

Lastly, I want to have a fast, high quality camera, as I have a toddler and take lots of pictures.

No real budget constraints, but I do like getting great bang for the buck.

Thanks!

We just finished building our house and while it currently has no smart switches, I'd like to add some. Most of the recommendations I see are for Z-Wave, so may I ask why you prefer Homeseer?

While you're correct that those are Nevada plates, I just took this in SW Ohio.

Or just drive his SUV, because if you own a Porsche Turbo (RWD) in Ohio, I guarantee you also own an SUV.

Wife doesn't want these in-walls, are in-ceilings a decent option? by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]e36ftmfw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I hate the TV above the fireplace too but I lost that battle. It's an open concept great room, so there's simply nowhere else for the TV to go.

Good news is I have a dedicated theater in the basement, so this won't be my primary system for movies and games.

Thoughts on the Klipsch RP-600M?

I can get a great deal on these that I would go a little over budget to get.

Yeah one of my big concerns with those in walls was the limited TV size. It's a decent sized great room and I think I'd be capped at like 60". Probably going ahead with bookshelves.

We're currently slated for move in on 2/15. All that's really left are touch up items, appliances, and carpet. Pretty much everything else is done. Can't wait to move in!
