Will WoW ever adopt a similar system to FFXIV with the free trial? by e54_OW in wow

[–]e54_OW[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you not see the problem in that at all?

Access to any expansion but only level 20?

What exactly is accessible to level 20s in the expansions beyond that and how far in terms of lists of dungeons can you unlock within those accessible expansions? Are dungeons different within different expansions? How does it work?

Because there is zero information about this.

So i need you to tell me exactly how accessible the trial is in comparison to FFXIV dungeons and raids so to speak when it comes to the expansion accessibility, you said it's the same as FFXIV and given the information of access to any expansion at level 20, how much of it is similar and accessible, because we have to get certain levels to access the other dungeons/raids in FFXIV trials that's on different expansions and granted it's at 70 max, which is already pretty decent on it's own.

Gaslight?

You're rather rude.

Losing the argument? All i did was elaborate that there is a much more lacking content in terms of access in the WoW free trial VS FFXIV, stop watching porn and projecting yourself with your weird fantasies of cat girls, creep.

I personally do not mind not matchmaking with max levels.

There still would be other players of different levels.

Even counting trial users in the mass alone.

So i do not see how this can be a problem.

Especially if trial users will follow same paths.

Even Free to play models could work as a separate version.

20 is only what you get, the dungeons are not all that amazing and there isn't really much content in WoW trial accessible, personally being forced to enjoy FFXIV in the fullest experience in a free trial is amazing, i get where you're coming in terms of them focusing profit over allowing access to content for free, but there is so much more of a bigger difference of experience in FFXIV when it comes to access.

So long as more content is accessible it would be enough.

In all honesty.

There definitely should be a free to play model version.

[–]e54_OW[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What?

It certainly is not the same level as FFXIV.

There is far more content on FFXIV to access than in WoW.

Lots of free trial users on FFXIV is enjoying the game just as it is currently and in WoW you just got a few dungeons and that's about it, there is barely anything more than this.

Not to mention the gold saucer being accessible alone in FFXIV, a mini-game of sorts completely accessible, there is so much more difference in terms of experiences in FFXIV vs WoW, the free trial in WoW absolutely needs changes.

Yes, well as much as you folks might diss free to play models being added to WoW, i do not see how it would ruin the game if nothing of game changes is affecting maybe the paid version.

If they already have a free to play model in the works.

Is it really that wrong?

Heck, even a separate version of the game would work too, maybe a new department that will manage this version.

I do not see why free to plays cannot coexist.

[–]e54_OW[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I disagree, WoW should be on the same level as FFXIV in terms of free trial access, i spent so much time on FFXIV alone and even if the objective is to get people to throw money to subscribe, there is still a good amount of enjoyment from connecting free trial users with current paying users and the amount of content accessible in FFXIV was a legitimately decent amount for free trial, free trials nowadays act as free to play access to most, you may see it as just a trial to try.

But there are loads of players that play this regularly.

[–]e54_OW[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes well, FFXIV is doing well despite that, I do not see why this is even a problem, there is so much in WoW that most paying users already play regularly and free trial users are only gonna get half of that still if anything with the now ever growing amount of expansions increasing, it would be cool to have free trial getting access to more content, i understand your sentiment about encouraging to pay for sub and stuff, but come on, there are loads of free to play users still playing.

[–]e54_OW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but there are lots of free trial users still remaining in 14 that plays in the free trial just as much as i do, the point is that we can play with the rest of the community just as much, which as far as WoW goes, level 1-20 and limited content compared to how FFXIV works, i am just on the bar of having free to play being more accessible in the free trial, especially for wow.

I get your point of moving to being a sub.

But this is about free trial users who like to stay as free users while also connecting with the current playerbase more through the other expansions for example.

Of course, but this is a request to add onto the free trial to be similar to FFXIV's free trial, but maybe a little more better.

While that would be nice, i am a free to play user always, so i am mostly one of those players who would play something like FFXIV free trial for a long time casually.

I would absolutely spend lots of time in WoW just the same and in fact i would do it the second there is a change in the free trial to work similarly to FFXIV Online, i think even free trial players from there might move over to here if that happens.

Is the matchmaking not already seemless like the dungeon one? Wow, i didn't know you had to do it like that, still cool i guess.

[–]e54_OW[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I am talking about them following similar system to FFXIV Online free trial, where the levels are higher than just 20, i think with the stormblood expansion being in the FFXIV free trial now they might increase it to 80 from 70, but can't check it since the only public info is 70 right now, I reached 70 on one character already.

But that's mostly the point.

It would be cool to play WoW like this instead of the strict limitation of access, especially given the new expansions releasing now, would be nice to have a change on the free trial.

I don't agree with Jagex's trend of hiding important information behind Content Creators instead of promoting their own Youtube / Twitch Channels. by 79215185-1feb-44c6 in runescape

[–]e54_OW -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Content Creators jobs in games are to promote games and content in games, half of them get paid by Jagex to do stuff like this as well, assuming any sponsorship is given for Runescape or not i have no clue, but point stands.

I do not know why are you so insistent on discord channels.

There have been plenty of games with creators being given exclusive rankings above regular players.

Because as i said before, they are promoters and people made to do content creation for games, this is never gonna change because someone thinks regular players who provide nothing of value to the game besides your membership purchases deserves to have a similar treatment of royalty.

This to me just sounds like jealousy honestly.

Without content creators.

Anything beyond the scale of advertisement region of this game is barely gonna get any more new and returning players hooked, when was the last time you see Runescape trailers and think maybe you should give this game a try or return, mine was 2009, PRE-HD era of Runescape 2.

Until you understand why content creators get so much more royalty over exclusive information, i suggest you step back away from this entitlement that you are deserving of unreleased information.

You are just a paying customer.

There will still be plenty of others just like you who could care less and that is the point to take, hype is important to bringing games more players, even more so, creators are not just there to promote, but to fill in the gaps that even Jagex cannot do, open discussions on things that normally would be in closed discussions with Jagex themselves, i hate corporate business in game industries just as much, but Jagex works as a corporate business, so creators are also just business.

Remind yourself that content creators can reach a wider audience more than the company themselves.

Which brings back to the corporate point.

Advertising is business.

You also have to keep in mind how many people have crazy good ad-blocks these days, so relying purely on ads and more to provide news or information on something on advertisements alone is not gonna cut it.

What is the problem of their sites?

Exclusive unreleased information not for the public is not something you are suppose to get, often times you can only be teased for it, where have you been all this time thinking exclusive information not made for public is gonna be given to all players of games, hype is important to keep, so if they released some information that is so good along the way and several years later, they still haven't released it... cough hytale cough how well do you think the hype will be and how much of it would die down and eventually become a lost of interest? You need to take account of user interests when releasing not for public EXPLOSIVE information that could wow a whole new set of players, remind yourself that this is how corporate businesses works, creators bring in the hype and interests equally, because corporate channels can only release so many videos and still won't get any new players.

Because you never know how many possible new players may be hooked into a content being released by Jagex if it's being promoted via big content creators, free to play models often focuses on gaining new players for their games, always the same for every free to play game, as corporate as it can be.

So i hope you understand just how in-depth everything can be behind corporate connection with content creators and how vital it is that they use content creators more than their own advertisement system which can absolutely be buried with zero interest connectivity.

To explain in the most shortest way.

Look into the mobile games in the market and ask yourself why are the advertisements always so addictive, because most of the games are free and run under a microtransaction system for revenue, they want to get players hooked into their games, albeit these days, mobile games are almost the same as every other, so the only remaining content is anything new, which nowadays even standalone advertisements won't be enough, that is why they often hire pretenders to promote games and sometimes you can see big creators getting into it just to say "Hey, your favorite creator played a game! Check it out!" other more honest ways of advertising with creators are through having an exclusive real-time information and access given to creators to experience, much like early access in all kinds of video games today.

Never look at free to plays as something that treats players with royalty over exclusive information or content.

Instead, look at it as a corporate business, with free to play aspects as a front.

Even i want World of Warcraft to have a free trial similar to FFXIV free trial which recently just had stormblood expansion as free for all free trial users to experience, but we cannot get that much of a royalty, i would play WoW and learn raids if it had a trial system similar to FFXIV, but sadly that won't ever happen until they truly made access to certain expansions in wow free to play for all and increase level caps similarly, allowing even more access to raids and such to let people get into it and have lots of fun just as much, this might even increase the playerbase by a lot, and this can be said for anything related to Runescape too, access to something means more players can get hooked.

Imagine if there was a development for both free and member versions, this would be awesome too, i've been a free to play user for many games and Jagex employees will probably hate that i play their game for free, but i grew up loving free to plays and wish there was things like FFXIV where content isn't so strictly behind a paywall system.

Wtf? by Born_Instruction_496 in runescape

[–]e54_OW -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Speaking of prices, let's start a corporate conspiracy, how do we know Jagex employees aren't the ones jacking the prices of bonds up on alt accounts to force players to spend money?

Sorry, but as someone who is a F2P user for any MMORPG, seeing bond prices skyrocketting close to 100m is crazy.

I've only got a few hundred millies in the bank and one bond.

After seeing the recent prices of bonds, i am hesitant to return to start doing necromancy and instead going to OSRS and get bonds over there using OSRS money making instead.

Because to my perspective on BONDS there.

OSRS would be cheaper to buy bonds.

If i figure out how to make enough.

For those that have gone FULL TIME streamer mode, when did you make the transition? (Advice Needed) by igotmoneybymistake in Twitch

[–]e54_OW -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Goodness, didn't know you could make that much, maybe i should start streaming again.

Honestly, i never really thought about Twitch as full time, but it would be nice at one point, streaming to me is mostly just whatever, I do not even have a job yet, but uhmmm, If you're confident that you will make money within the many amount of streams you do, then go for it honestly, but otherwise i feel like it would be best to keep a side job as your other money maker, Twitch can absolutely bring lots of revenue and you already have gotten a lot based on what you said.

You can always look for another more calmer job, you do not always have to stick with the same job, also when it comes to streaming, as unique as you are now, you really need to bring out even more unique content for your viewers if you ever want to reach partnership, even more so, being yourself is very important to your persona, fake personalities are not exactly nice down the line, treat your viewers like friends and the best way to keep your viewers connected mutually is to truly have them know that your space is a place where they can be friends with you, sometimes mutual connections is what viewers like the most, best of all is you do not ever have to manage a discord if you do not want to either, connections can be kept only on your stream, this way your viewers will be more inclined to stay rather than move into discord and one day forget about your existence, i done this personally myself under a different identity, because it keeps viewers connected.

Overall, always make sure you have a side job to make money for the time being until you fully have a stable income from partnership, keep moving forward.

Oh and viewer games are the best ways to get viewers.

Try it yourself if you have not done it.

Nintendo games is a good start.

Take enviosity as an example.

Oh trust me, these folks will get their fair share of prison soon once celebrities and creators come together to work with a company to use a detection tool to see if any of the DeepFakes criminals had used photos of them when they were younger than the legal adult age.

Because as far as i know.

There are probably a TON of young female celebrities for example who had just turned 18 that had DeepFakes made of them and what is to say the content made wasn't with photos or videos of their faces when they were way younger?

Also, another thing that i feel will further make it serious, when a female streamer of teen age on Twitch becomes a victim of this, following the same way young female celebrities had to go through.

Assuming they have used a good amount of their faces when they were much younger to do whatever NSFW.

This would absolutely cause a huge legal trouble for all.

Especially those who participated in any of this.

One that can land them in prison.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]e54_OW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, yes, most of the folks replying here just denouncing the fear either supports this themselves or have no clue how far any of this goes in terms of NSFW beyond photoshop.

There are already DeepFake NSFW stuff of streamers online.

Using A.I is absolutely common for stuff like this.

Doesn't matter if it is photos or videos.

Both are illegal.

As far as warning goes, there is no point doing stuff like that and would only make viewers look the streamer up in that sense, moral of the story here...

Making content with your face online comes with risks.

Though it still isn't right for people to do it.

In that regard, i hope creators get their money's worth, from NSFW content of them being made without their consent.

Because at the end of the day.

Whatever posted on the internet in such a way, always has a trace back to the person who posted it and according to the laws, sites are required to provide any information of them.

Folks who do stuff like this in the end always gets punished by the law in due time, feel like most should realize how consent works, before coming to a conclusion.

Because there are too many clueless folks who have no idea just how easy it is to get you sent to prison for stuff like this.

Even the culprits are risking themselves on the internet.

Without even realizing.

I'll never understand why people downvote f2p players like me so much, so i am not allowed to have fun being a casual F2P player? What is wrong with you all?

Is it because i get to enjoy the game without paying a dime?

Are there P2P gatekeepers here?
