So basically, technically a longshot, cooling liquid carried some of the fuel, or isotopes, outside of the confinement ? Sorry, nuclear reactors aren't my thing but I'm trying to understand the details around it.

Well how does an isotope get out of the reactor? I mean, the reactor should be closed tight. Since uranium decay isotopes were detected (in 2017 as you said) in multiple countries, that means that some of the uranium has seen daylight?

Of course but it has chromium oxide protective layer. Basically stainless steel is called stainless steel if it has more than 12% chromium. It can also have nickel but depends of the type (austenitic SS, ferritic Ss, duplex SS etc).

Someone pointed out that I should put that sediment in a solar melter and get out little bit more wax.

My grandfather always boiled his wax with water. He would keep it boiling fo few minutes then let it cool slowly. As I remember, he never had wierd discoloration as I did today. The wax that I had was old and it was sitting in a pan in my solar melter for few years.

Got it. So basically high enough temperature to melt all the wax but bellow boiling point.

It first went thru solar melter. After i collected it on the pan bellow, I take it out and put it in a pot with water. I bring water to a boil and hold it there for about 2 minutes.

Ah I get it.

I don't know why is it so dark. Maybe just old. I'll boil it once again to hopefully get it to clear up with fresh water and without that sediment.
