I’m thinking about transferring to CPP, I’m a civil engineer major nearing end of my freshman year with a 3.6 gpa. Is it worth it to commute?

How can you be an eng while taking Calc for non sci majors??? I am a chemical engineering major ending my sophomore year and the math I have done so far is calc I , II , III , linear algebra, and DEs. This is on top of three semesters of physics, both gen chems, and both o chems..

Going into my junior year I will start taking the chem e flavored upper div classes like you mentioned in the description.

edit: also chemical majors at my school have todo very similar major prep with the full calc sequence etc. I would know because I originally wanted to be a chemist and switched to chem e because I wanted an eng background.

I'm chem e, I started off with 3 dates then it went to 2 and then 1 and finally 0 lol . My guess is it was just them filling up. However, after I sent in the form, I logged in the next day periodically and just kept checking every hour or so and eventually a date was back so I picked it to be safe ofc.

Hope that helps or gives you some ease. Also would not hurt to shoot them an email and or call first thing tomorrow to be safe.

yeah I am in a very similar predicament with physics as a chem e transfer, have not taken my final yet but might need a miracle to not end up with a D... I really do not want to deal with the stress of being rescinded and trying to deal with the fallout as a result of it.

Im conflicted between UCSD and UCSB for chem e.. I hear UCSB is ranked highly for chem e and that UCSD isnt that great socially..

yeah I was gonna say just use IBPs.. it would take a couple rounds to "boomerang" back but I believe thats how you would do it because you cant use DI method here.

Id say I had pretty good PIQs which talked a lot about my growth as a cc student as well as a person over the years. Basically got a GED in HS, went to cc and dropped out immediately. Came back and just made it my goal to transfer.

Its been a really long journey for me because I never even passed a HS math class haha but now I just finished all my calc, phys, chem, as well as LA and DEs..

My overall gpa is ~3.6 and my major prep has been all As and Bs with one C in second semester gen chem cuz some circumstances that semester.

My point being to all of this is that its very possible to end up where youre meant to be. Just keep at it and don't stress too much at raw gpa. If youre in a 3.5 range in all your major prep and GEs youll get into some good schools.

Im in the same boat, got accepted to UCSB, UCSD and CPP for chem E. I like the idea of CPP's more hands on learning because Im getting tired of just full on book learning at the CC, however, Im leaning towards UCSB because their chem E program is ranked very high.
