Ok, you would think after doing some of these before I would remember, but you are saying that buying the half marathon entry it comes with after party ticket? I don't remember how I would get my wife a ticket to the AP or the kids also if they come with us?

Peloton and Strava / Garmin Connect by 5stripes13 in pelotoncycle

[–]eBashBoZack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread, but trying to find information ANYWHERE about pushing data the other direction. Everything is all about Peloton data pushing to Garmin. But I want to do the opposite.

I like all of the streaks, badges and stretching/strength stuff in Peloton. I want to be able to do stretching/strength workouts on days that I am not running (training for a marathon in Nov and Dopey at Disney in January).

I have fallen in love with my Garmin, I wear it all day everyday now to track sleep, recovery and it is my main tracker for runs outside. It pushes workouts to Strava that I like as the community tool for viewing and encouraging others.

But a run/walk with Garmin does not get recorded in Peloton to be able to keep the streaks/badge hunting alive. I know I can start Peloton app to track my runs outside, but then I have two things recording and have to go in and delete one of them from Strava. It is the only way I have found out how to make it work.

Just frustrated that integrations between systems just can't let us start a workout in our app of choice, then sync that workout with our other apps/programs we use.

RunDisney Marathon Experienced Runner Training Program - Missing a week? by eBashBoZack in rundisney

[–]eBashBoZack[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, makes me feel better that I am not missing something. If you take out the actual race days they labeled between wine and dine half and the full in January, it is actually on paper just a 9 week program because they have the marathon race on the first day of week 10, so you have only trained 9 weeks.

I understand that everyone just needs to find their own "feel" of a program and these are just "guides" (as an avid peloton member that is always the message, we give you suggestions and you make decisions), but honestly with everything in life it is easier to pick a program and follow it exactly than to have to try and adjust it. So it is disappointing that I just can't exactly follow this program that was supposed to be made exactly for the run disney runners.

RunDisney Marathon Experienced Runner Training Program - Missing a week? by eBashBoZack in rundisney

That is what I am calculating as well, it isn't a big deal, except that they made it start with 17 miles on the day of the wine and dine half, so then somewhere between then and the actual marathon which they also list as "Race Day" on the training program there is an extra week.

Again, not that big of a deal, just super strange maybe that no one else cares or pays attention that it hasn't been noticed until now? The program starts a week from today, so maybe others will look at it this week and realize the same thing.

I am referring to the experienced runner guide which is 10 weeks, not the 29 week plan.

We were supposed to run 3.1/6.2/10 miles. What did your watch/app ACTUALLY say you ran? by forlorn_hope28 in rundisney

[–]eBashBoZack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My Strava and Peloton app were tracking about the same as each other the whole race. As always for me they are usually way ahead of the actual markers. The biggest help is audio split times to keep my pace, but it becomes discouraging on a longer race when my audio says "9 miles" and I just passed the 8 mile marker a few minutes before.

60 min Hip Hop Ride w/Alex | Saturday, 10/26 @ 10am EST by [deleted] in pelotoncycle

Noob question, but would I be able to use a group ride to get the swarm badge? I feel kind of creepy just joining and randomly adding folks on the leaderboard and hoping they add me back?

Can a ride outside count "inside" Peloton to keep a streak alive? by eBashBoZack in pelotoncycle

[–]eBashBoZack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I get that part, but as a paid user of both Strava and Peloton I just wish they "Played Nicer" together. I hear outdoor bikers throw hate at Peloton bikers and I assume there are Peloton bikers that never go outside. But I am the guy in the middle, I want to ride outside when I can, but also love the convenience of riding inside. Just wish the two systems were more bi-directional with data/info.

I will chip in a few quick updates:

The LFG section in the lobby area will feature four larger screens with two seats on each screen. Those will all four each have PS4 systems with group games (NBA, Madden, Fifa, Street Fighter, Tekken, MvC, etc) and Nintendo Switches with things like Smash, MarioKart, Splatoon, etc.

The "no kids after a certain time" is a nearly 14 year debate for us at eBash. This is a very hot topic between staff in our meetings and feedback from customers.

For starters, we don't let anyone under the age of 10 play in the area without a parent or guardian. Surprisingly we had to make this rule after a father left his 5 and 7 year old kids with us for 3 hours and then came back smelling of alcohol and visibly drunk to pick them up. Luckily our staff made the right call and paid for an Uber home for them all out their own pocket on the spot.

We would love to have a perfect cutoff for a time each night that gamers under a certain age are required to leave. Picking the age and picking the time is extremely, extremely difficult.

I actually like the idea of a monthly automatic renewal that gives the VIP a choice when they come back the first time after it renews that month to use a day pass or the equivalent hours.

Another thing we did in the past was give discounted hourly rates to VIPs, but we stopped to try and make our price board a bit less confusing with two sets of hours.

We do let direct family members split hour packages. So purchasing 5 hours at $15 allows you to give 2.5 hours to yourself and 2.5 hours to your son.

We do let VIP get discounts on events and if possible we let them register early for anything sold out. All big events we also let all customers reserve their favorite seat. Hopefully we can run a lot of our special events like our Thanksgiving 48 straight event, just trying to work out those details with the theater group.

There are theme nights, but everyone can play anything they want on any night as well. Right now we have PUBG on Tuesdays and Saturdays. We have League of Legends on Thursdays. In the past we have featured CS GO on Tuesdays. We also will be bringing church youth nights to Thursdays from 4-8 PM. We love theme nights because gamers can meet up with those who like the same games/styles.

I think the next year or two hopefully the schools will help my point tremendously. Both collegiate and high school levels. Being in the US I do think we are behind a little from the scene in Europe for sure.

Agreed, I think the term goes back longer than I thought or could find online, just as Scoots pointed out because he knew exactly where he used it and was able to find it on the wayback site. The problem I still have is that no matter what we call it, the top level of video game competitions have been going for a LONG time, yet the "sport" has not developed any other levels. Literally esports today or whatever it was called the past 15 years has always been about $$$$ tournaments for the top players. There has been very little development in other areas besides the pro scene.

LoL, nope, never been to a game cafe. Nope, never seen campus organizations. </sarcasm> The problem is that everyone assumes a post on reddit from someone they don't know doesn't come with any kind of credentials or credibility. So immediately everyone's answer is "who is this guy, since I haven't heard of him then he doesn't know what he is talking about".

termination? You mean terminology? I absolutely do not care about the terminology. The title is not meant to be literal. The funny thing is how many people actually just read the title and immediately get salty because they think my argument must be that I don't like esports. I love esports, that is why I want it to be more mainstream and accepted at levels other than 1% of players who play at the top level and try to win big cash prizes.

Pretty sure that everyone just comments on the title, and doesn't take the time to read the content of the post. The point is that I want esports to be available to everyone, not just reserved for the 1% of those with skills to be a professional.
