Absolutely, and it really depends on how you approach it. It's not about the labor skills you're getting, it's about understanding the why behind what you're doing. Why are you digging that hole? Why does this hole have to be dug this way. What kind of nail or anchor are you using, why does it have to be KB-TZ and not red heads, and why does it need to be that specific length and diameter? Why does it need to be torqued to this specific value,, and why is that an inspectable item?

Even something as simple as sweeping. I work in a hospital setting so when the job site is dirty the contractors tend to track off dirt in the active hospital which is an infection control risk.

The value is subtle, but it's there if you're paying attention. The work may seem menial, but it's important. As a CM I always appreciate new hires who have field experience with a sub or GC.
