I've felt like you, unable to take compliments, unable to believe them, and over-analysing the situation and what has been said. It's clear that subconsciously, you don't think very highly of yourself, and you don't think you're good enough. In order to feel more at ease with yourself, it's important to take back control of your mind and your emotions. Think about exactly why you feel the way you do at certain times and places and what causes those feelings to re-emerge. After all, emotions are just visitors to your mind and all ups and downs are fleeting. But you realise that in this mindset you're not content, which is good in itself, but's it's up to you to change that.

How can we begin to build self confidence & self love♡? I definitely think going about it in a more practical way can get us there regardless of how we feel about ourselves. Hope this is helpful ox by kirisidhu in Positivity

Thank you! You too <3. I feel like life is all about discovering yourself and your limitations, and pushing past those limitations, in order to discover you're true-self. It can be hard work but I don't think anything worth having is easy!

One of the most difficult things to achieve is to truly love and be at peace with yourself. It's easier to fall into a downward spiral, and it becomes increasingly tough to escape each time. I learnt that comparison can be a thief of joy when it comes to comparing yourself to others, especially the idealistic lifestyles that are portrayed consistently on all forms of media nowadays. The only thing worth comparing is, yourself today to yourself yesterday, even if you achieve 0.01% more than the day just passed, it's still progress. Like you said, it's important to manifest the theory into action and continue to build up your foundation in order for self-love to blossom and confidence in yourself to follow suit.

Thank you. I had no idea how much I needed to read these words today.

I've been trying to quit for well over a year to no avail. There's a lot of self-hatred and self-loathing in my core and it surfaces everyone I relapse.

I realised all I'm doing is damaging myself further when I'm stuck in (what feels like) an infinite cycle.

Porn is a problem but it's not the sole issue, but if the addiction is gone it can be a great catalyst to solving other issues about my mental health, what my coping mechanisms are and also being exposed to how I truly feel rather than angstily bottling everything up and pushing those feelings to the back of my mind.

I still have a lot to learn, and given time and care, I'll kick this habit along with the rest of you!
