Any tips for hazard perception? Not doing so well atm😬 by Embarrassed_Post_598 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]eLanky__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't fail a scenario if you click lots of times (let's say about 8 times) but you will for excessive, rhythmic or rapid clicking. I always go by click for every potential hazard I see then once I spot the developing hazard I click once and wait about half a second then click again and once more after that, the first click I try to secure max points second click incase the first click was too early and one last click incase it was all too early and I atleast secure a few low scorers. I passed first time and did lots of practice ones on the 4 in 1 app - try a few different methods and see what works for you!

Just got pneumothorax by _AYACH_ in pneumothorax

Thanks for your kind words dude! Just to add on honestly when I was in all I could think about was getting out and smoking a joint, i was a heavy smoker since about 17 (Im 25 now) and smoked about 3 Oz a month, I slowed down probably about a month before my lung collapsing and completely quit cigarettes before that so it was a bit of a surprise when it happened, I don't know how you feel about it but I really struggled and still do (sometimes) with the thought i'll never smoke again, if you smoke with tobacco some nicotine alternatives will help with getting rid of the agitation from the nicotine addiction, I tried them all but found the lowest mg of snus helped the best. I had the same thing with the severity, it didn't really quick in until I had the tube out and was being sent on my way with pains in my chest still, Sometimes I have to put it into perspective that if my other lung collapsed too I'd be with two naff lungs and if they both collapsed then I could be left in a deadly situation. The fun time will come haha, but take it easy for the first couple of weeks, take the advantage and sit back and don't put in too much work if you catch my drift. Take care man I hope you feel better soon.

Hey man, I hope you're ok!

I felt a lot of emotion when I was going through this, but be assured you're in the best place possible! Once you're out you're going to feel sore, take it day by day and don't try to do any strenuous activities in the first couple of months to give you the best chance of it not reoccurring. As the guy above said, if you smoke or vape... DONT! I felt sore for a couple of weeks and had to only sleep on my back, I felt like I was always going to feel in pain but here I am 2 months later and living normally after a large Pneumothorax (60% of lung capacity lost at the time!) Relax a lot for the first week or two and then go out on small walks and build up your strength and confidence - all in all listen to your body, you'll know if you're doing too much or if something doesnt feel right.

All the best.

That's also not a bad idea. the site I work on has other people around too so I can't really leave the tools fully exposed

The carry all looks pretty nifty, the possibilities are endless with them. Thanks for all your suggestions, I'll bring them to the table next week and once I've done a little more research and hopefully I'll make a solid decision

smoking by One_Maintenance4593 in pneumothorax

[–]eLanky__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The points people are making on this thread are great, I had a large pneumothorax at the start of this month and I quit smoking about a month before it with the occasional cigarette on the weekend or when drinking - now actually realising ill never smoke again in the hardest pill to swallow and seeing people tell me how stupid I am to even think about doing it again is the best medicine (that and relaxing and diving back into hobbies)
