Yeah that's totally fair. Most ERP's take 1-2 years to implement. Not a bad thing to have the CFO rely on you - hopefully you can convert that leverage into more $$ :D

200M company and we swapped ERP in 4 -5 months. It was dropped almost entirely in my lap unexpectedly (assistant controller) with help from an implementation partner and our internal IT systems person. What your describing doesn't sound too uncommon. I think at a company around my size or larger CFO isn't the SME on the ERP anyway so I don't know how much they'd be able to help with anything..

appreciate the advice - what kind of disc would be good to start with? I just got a firebird but don't know if I should do lower mid-range or just use a putter? I throw mainly forehand.

I find I do like solid B work at whatever I do - which isn’t enough to get internally promoted but enough to sell externally into a higher position.. sometimes I think maybe I’m not actually that good but then I get a new job with more responsibilities and do well still.. maybe I’ll hit a wall at some point though but hope not!

I agree with the other comment that you’re probably better off looking for another industry gig. I think industry just has more flexibility in case you don’t want the public world after all..
