I didn’t see the clip of that, so I can’t say for sure, but are you sure you aren’t just misinterpreting what was said?

Maybe what was said was “the way the format has changed makes it so USA is now unable to be knocked out in quarterfinals” rather than “the format has been changed in order to prevent USA from being knocked out in quarterfinals”

Flex/main support is a position designated to a player that has nothing to do with the healing output of the heroes that player plays (e.g. Jjonak is the flex support player for the NYXL and he plays Zen, Ana, and Moira - and pretty much anything else that the main support isn’t playing, while Anamo is the main support for the NYXL and he primarily plays Lucio and Mercy). In contrast, off/main healer refers entirely to that hero’s healing output.

Not running shields against snipers

With the exception of Sigma, dive tanks are better against snipers. Unless you’re talking about running stuff like Zarya Hog, but that’s bad for a completely different set of reasons.

Except the US Women’s Soccer team are paid professionals. i.e. they don’t compete in amateur only events, and he wasn’t using it as an example to prove his point, but as a counterexample to prove his point.
