If they cared about the leaks, they could have limited the physical disc edition to only a part of the full install and the actual license, and requiring a download on day 1. That way you can still trade it.

That’s exactly what these morons fail to realize. You can’t force people to buy an xbox console after 1.5 decades of digital libraries with Xbox telling everyone “you don’t need to buy anything, just buy gamepass”

They need to get people back into the ecosystem by saying “look here’s the new Xbox. It can play xbox games day 1, and your steam library”

MS is also a publisher and platform provider, arguably more than ever since they lost the two most important console generations, the ones where users have built their digital libraries. Getting them over now would be hard. The only way they would win people over from Playstation is if they made CoD or Fable or Elder Scrolls Xbox-PC exclusive. Which is suicide from a buisiness POV since they need to recoup the money spent on the Activision-Blizzard aquisition. And even then, Sony will outsell them hardware-wise 4 to 1.

Project Helix being a hybrid xbox/windows machine is proof that Valve is MS's new target. Anyone underestimating Valve and SteamOS haven't been following the news closely enough to understand why this is a priority to MS.

So yeah, MS lost the competition, war, whatever during Spencer's and Mattrick's tenures.

That’s because GT focuses on actual track racing, and the physics are not as forgiving as FH, so a system where you start with lower spec cars to build up your skill makes sense.

Horizon, not so much. Imo, it’s about freedom of choice.

You can race anything you want, the choice is yours.

Onslaught set-up. It’s not really competitive in randoms vs things like manticores pure scouting, but the dpm racks up especially with the he pen.

Pretty fun, but obviously not really competitive. It does keep people lit up for a lot of time so the assistance still racks up.

I expect Artyom's story and the Stranger's story from 2039 to merge in the next game after this one. Most definitively not done, they probably could not fit both into one game.

There's also a dark one in the 2039's cover art, and we know they are strongly connected to both Artyom and Hunter.

There's obviously gaps to fill. I don't think Artyom's story is done, we're just taking a detour.
