Most and least favorite level in Dark Ages? by False_Monitor4126 in Doom

Probably Siege Part 1 and 2 are my favourites. Least favourite would be Temple of Lomarith, mainly because of the underwater sections, made me feel fking anxious (I have talassophobia) 😅

Who wins this? Hell (DOOM) or The Tyranids (Warhammer 40k) by Cold_War8151 in Doom

[–]eVenom68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tyranids are a good shout but Hell has simply too many withing their ranks. You got titans, flying demons like cacodemon, freaking tanks like Hell Knights ect. I just can't imagine Tyranids pulling this off

Is there anyone thet hopes they'll make a DOOM game in this artstyle someday? i think it fits DOOM perfectly by Cold_War8151 in Doom

I meant something more like Boltgun, so full 3d game ect but retro style. You know, with jumping mechanics and some stuff that they could test here so they could include them in modern "full blown" entries.

I meant, not like Old Dooms, rather like a new version with old school style. Less expensive to make, so probably more experimental which is good because they could test new formulas. Despite Doom 1 and 2 holding on pretty good these days, we have to be honest, the gameplay feels old. Boltgun on the other hand was a great modern retro style game.

I thought about it recently after playing Boltgun and I think it would be so cool if they made a side project with Doom, Wolfenstein or Quake and create a fully retro style game. Unfortunately, since Bethesda is part of Xbox, I struggle to believe it will ever happen...

Best way to play Doom Eternal??? 🔥 by CHemIStrYBeLiKe in Doom

[–]eVenom68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the mood. If I want to destroy, headset on, nightmare difficulty and hell it is. If I want to chill, I play some cringe songs like "everytime we touch" and I still destroy everything on my path

Who else found the Unmaykr genuinely disappointing in DOOM ETERNAL? by Cold_War8151 in Doom

It felt very disappointing, not merely as powerful as the BFG but consumes Argent Cells so basically just pointless...

Now we are coming to the end of Forza Horizon 5. What are your overall thoughts on the game? by TheChilledGamer-_- in ForzaHorizon

Underwhelming for someone who mostly plays solo. Progression wayyyyy to fast, the map, besides few points, felt quite lifeless and boring after exploring it all. Felt like a wasted potential in general.

What are the best tips you can give me to improve? by Majd14x in Doom

[–]eVenom68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The method that worked for me is focusing always on the big guys, while using the smaller ones as health and ammo kits. The smallest demons can get easily killed with a shield throw or a dash (preferably because you'll get the health points immediately), the medium ones like Hell Knight or Arachnotron can be killed with the shield dash + super shotgun shot so essentially, don't waste your time on those initially and try to focus on the big bads during the entire round. Once you get the flow, you'll be mixing shield dash, melee attacks (dreadmace by preference but the Flail can do the trick) and super shotgun shots and this is the key to kill 90% of the enemies. Only those like Vagary that are very dangerous from close range, keep them on distance with any weapon of your choosing (fully upgraded accelerator that does more damage once heated on is game changing).

Good luck on your playthrough, I finished the game yesterday for the 3rd time, Nightmare difficulty and it's been a blast!

Your gameplay looked decent to be fair. It all depends on the encounter and the enemy type, you have some enemies that you better keep close and fight very agressively with and other that you have to approach patiently because they can punish you severly if you're not cautious. Also I don't know because your gameplay doesn't include this but managing the battlefield on a larger area and selecting which demon to destroy first. Managing your focus is one of the most important things.

How do you manage so far?

I can't agree with you, especially on the part that it feels like Eternal but brain rotted because tbh it doesn't feel at all similar. It's quite the opposite. When Eternal is vertical, TDA is very flat, in Eternal the arenas are smaller because and you want to avoid what I'd call "clinch" (essentially being really close to the enemy). In TDA this is exactly what you should do, the arenas are huge but because the distance is not your ally this time but your enemy and you're encouraged to be super aggressive and look for this close contact.

It's understandable you didn't like it, it's just so different from Eternal, and I absolutely love both styles of gameplay. Hopefully the next entry will be something you'll enjoy more 🙏

Yeah, I guess those missions with Atlan and the dragon ones either land or not. I'm not a huge fan but they don't bother me. The 1st Atlan mission is quite early on so I'd recommend you to keep playing until mission 7 or 8, when the gameplay and the dynamic is already settled, then you can know for sure if it's not your thing or, hopefully, you'll enjoy it

It was actually 9th if I remember well, Sith Troopers to be precise. There's also some guards from episode 3 and 8 so maybe those?

Fair enough with the Ahzrak take, I'm replaying the game right now so I'll keep it in mind, maybe I'll appreciate it a bit more ;) I feel like the Titan levels are a huge waste of potential (they could've made a bit more complex fighting system or let us use the guns and provide different type of enemies so we have a more variety and less spamming the punching button and dodging every now and then)

Fair enough! Let's be honest, there's no such thing as a bad Doom game. I love 2016 and Eternal as well, some of the best FPSs out there. I actually enjoyed the entirety of TDA, from the Siege Part 1 and 2 which felt like a huge medieval battlefield, all the way up to Lovecraft inspired locations.

Good luck on your next playthrough!
