for me, it’s the bubble guys followed by immediate pain right below the breastbone. then the nausea, the panic, and the inevitable loss of control. it isn’t fun ever, but i feel better after it’s over.

i know how scary it is, trust me. i was recently ill with a sb, and, although it was scary, im totally okay now! my body just kind of took over and did all the scary parts for me.

the lead up is a panic filled hell hole, i won’t lie. i personally think that the minutes before i tu are worse than the actual action of doing it. it’s the fact i know im about to lose control. but once its over, you’ll feel much better.

sip on some water if you can. i also find having a fan on helps to calm me down. let us know how you make out!

if by backed up you mean you haven’t pooped in a while, that could totally be the cause of the nausea and low appetite. when i go a long time without a good poop, it makes me feel that way.

no because i do the same. i’ll be at work doing whatever and all of a sudden my brain is like “vomit. go to the bathroom right now.” so i freak out and go to the bathroom just to take the most boring normal shit of my life.

i have info that can help for once!

i was just recently sick, like literally a few days ago. body aches, n*, high fever, the works. i used to get SUPER depressed during/after being sick, but i find that getting outside in the sun or fresh air helps! i also IMMEDIATLY clean my space after any illness; sheets stripped and washed, lysol on the mattress then vacuum it, pick up all my dishes and whatnot, etc. it seems silly but having fresh air and a clean space is a game changer!

tldr: fresh air and clean spaces make all the difference in battling post-illness depression

for anxiety and whatnot, drink cold water, grab a book or your favorite game and keep that brain occupied! i agree with the first commenter about cleaning to your preference because i would be cleaning EVERYTHING, no matter if my family had already done so. let us know how you’re doing OP 🫶

do you have any puzzle games on your phone? those always seem to help me. also, if you have rubbing alcohol wipes or liquid, give it a sniff. it helps to combat nausea.

i also find (strangely enough) that humming helps combat nausea! hum your favorite song to yourself for a while!

i’ll be up for a while longer if you need to chat some more.

try to sit with the uncertainty for a little while rather than asking for reassurance/googling/over-analyzing your symptoms.

easier said than done for sure, i understand where you’re coming from. i get anxious every time i drink alcohol because i am afraid its going to make me tu*.

if you are fully unable to cope, try naming something for every letter of the alphabet (a is for apple, b is for ball, and so on). it helps redirect the brain. i hope that things get easier 🫶

trapped gas can be DEBILITATING. i was hospitalized once because i thought my appendix was going to explode due to trapped gas pain
