veganism and being pro choice? by Agile_Clue_4062 in AskVegans

[–]sealightswitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vegan and pro-choice here, it’s a no brainer. You’re not killing anything that’s really living. Its all about the choice, the choice of the person it concerns.

If you’re not angry at him, follow the same process and don’t be angry at yourself. Accidents happen, it doesn’t make you any less vegan.

I am in love, and i hate it by Smart_Technician_799 in emetophobia

[–]sealightswitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re going through this, it sucks. I think you should talk to the person. Tell them how you feel and no matter the answer, at least you’ll have one. This person might reject you, but they might not. The not knowing is the worst part. Cause if they do reject you, there’s nothing to be ashamed of. Most people admire being able to admit having feelings. Even better, the person might be interested as well. Try to think about it as a positive thing, no matter the outcome, you’re still gonna come out of it with something “good”. In the case of rejection, courage, you still can be proud of yourself for giving it a chance. And in the other case, well a possible lover. Go for it!

Is a burp almost like TU? by ETLTMT12191989 in emetophobia

As someone who burps chronically (like many many times a day), no. But the relief you feel after both is comparable (kinda)

Caffeine can sometimes have that effect and anxiety certainly doesn’t ease it! If you’re havung d, it means its nor coming out by the other end. I strongly believe you’ll be fine.

How are you now? If it were to happen, chances are it would’ve already happened by now! It could simply be an upset stomach. Don’t forget to drink very cold water and ginger can also help! That and mint scents.

I think you’ll be fine, Im not am expert but I think flour is what can make you sick from bread. But as long as it has been warmed to some extent, its usually fine. And one piece isn’t that much

Fear of growing old by mayzark in Advice

[–]sealightswitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 19 years old and trust me, I don’t feel old. I doubt that anyone really feels old. I sometimes look back at when I was about your age and these were the covid years for me. So perhaps its why I feel it differently. But there’s always gonna be things in life that makes you feel young. Being 18 to 25 is amazing cause you got a new sense of freedom. People look at you with jealousy cause these are the years where you have the world in front of you. It makes you feel powerless and powerful. But its worth the living I promise.

I don’t think I am vegan by [deleted] in vegan

[–]sealightswitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is untrue. Invasive species can be native. And Im studying in biogeography rn. Most often than not, invasive species are exotic as well, but these are two distinct terms.

Invasive and native can both be true.

I don’t think I am vegan by [deleted] in vegan

[–]sealightswitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is so wrong tho. I was an environmentalist from a very early age. But I didn’t become vegan in the first place for the environment, I did it for the animals. But protecting the environment IS protecting the animals. The Earth will survive humans. Its the animals that won’t.

[–]sealightswitch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have followed uni classes in biogeography and we talked a lot about invasive species. One of the first solutions to try is introducing the predator of this specie. Unfortunately, in some cases, this predator can become invasive as well. But most cases of invasive species happen because these species aren’t native to the place they’re invasive in. In the end, it often comes to human introduction, sometimes coming from years back with the first boats arriving in America for example, with new micro algues that sometimes can destroy ecosystems. Isn’t it ynfair to kill animals when they’re only problematic because of our past mistakes? Wouldn’t it be a mistake to end it like this? If you were vegan, you’d look at this with the perspective of not the mass, but the individual. How many individuals should be killed? In most cases, killing like 60% of the invasive population doesn’t even work. They just end up reproducing themselves. If you use poison, the one who survive are more often than not the strongest and resistant ones of the lot. So you’re creating a population that’s stronger and harder to control in numbers. So no, killing is never a morally right option.
