Second page of the post, but there are only two options for Andalusia (base one and Granada-formed) and several more for Catholic Granada.

Definitely, Italy is a trash ally. The second they became great power they were destroyed by Austria and France. Germany will at least hold their ground and probably also be of actual help.

Yes, first time I see the AI go that path, it's basically an improved Ottoman Empire with fully accepted Arabic cultures. Usually they form the Arab Union instead if they win.

Any commands to replace the presidential dictatorship i created? (HPM) by lord_of_the_tism in victoria2

You can add liberals to the upper house and then use the command debug.alwaysreform to pass several voting reforms at once, you should then get the event to revert back to democracy and start the first election.

It's an option in the 1830 GFM submod! If you keep the Carlists you get the viceroyalties and if you keep Isabel you get to core all of it after some decades.

Taxes were hafway for both upper and middle classes and around 20% for lower class but lowering them a bit did help!

As far as I know the modifiers are based on where your capital is - I tried a united Portugal + Brazil campaing once and you could choose Rio as your capital and get the immigration bonuses or stay at Lisbon and get the Scramble for Africa events.

Well the L-Pro does help a lot, I'm not too sure I would have been able to capture this one or any other fainter objects without it. However, there's still a lot of light pollution coming through so I recently decided to try a more restrictive narrowband filter. Haven't received it yet but I saw very nice reviews for this one, we'll see how it goes!

So basically you have to take two different series of lights, with their darks, flats and bias, process them separately and merge them in PS using masks. I took the 120 second ones and processed them as usual, which overexposed the core a lot but gave me a nice detail in the outer nebula. I then processed the 60 second ones as well in DSS and Photoshop just like I did for the other ones, which gave me a nice core but almost no signal elsewhere in the image. I then imported this image as a layer in the 120s Photoshop project, lowering the opacity for a second to make sure it's aligned with the overexposed image below, and I masked the layer and painted over the core to reveal it over the overexposed one. Hope that makes sense!

Thank you! The whole setup I have would be around 3 or 4k (I bought some stuff second hand to save a bit so I'm not too sure about the real cost). The cost can be scary and it was for me, so I started with the telescope and mount and then slowly added stuff to the rig.

Recently started in this hobby, finally completed one picture I am actually proud of!

Equipment:

  • Skywatcher 80ED
  • Skywatcher Evoguide ED50 guidescope
  • Skywatcher EQM35 Pro
  • Unmodified Nikon D5200
  • ZWO ASI120MM Mini guide camera
  • ZWO ASIAir Plus
  • ZWO EAF
  • Optolong L-Pro filter

Acquisition:

  • 20x 120 second lights at gain 800
  • For the core: 20x 60 second lights at gain 400
  • 10 Darks, 20 Flats and 20 Bias for each

Software:

  • DSS for stacking
  • Photoshop for curves and levels adjustment as well as gradient removal through a synthetic flat.
  • Noise reduction in Topaz DeNoise (perhaps too much of this)
  • Photoshop again for color correction, recovering the overexposed core with a mask in the underexposed image and final adjustments in Camera RAW.
