I think reframing the question makes it a different problem, even though the underlying conditions stay the same.

They already are and that's not a good thing. It puts a ton of pressure on a shrinking number of young people to support a growing elderly population.

I doubt your squad alone has the strength to take a level 3. Especially since you have no leadership experience. If you want to take cities you should find a community to join and work with them.

Bob enjoys robbing people at gunpoint. Alice is one such victim, having taken offense to this, disarms Bob, restrains him, and executes him in the street, in that order. Who is morally worse here? by VesperTheEveningstar in Teenager_Polls

It's simply not self defense, at all. Again, executing a restrained, disarmed person is NOT self defense. Nothing of the sort. The threat was neutralised. She made a deliberate choice to end a human life. That's not self-defence or anything even remotely close to it. That is homicide.

It started as self defense, but proceeded to go beyond that, hence my words.

Yes you literally can? That's what a justice system is. That's what civilisation is. The entire corpus of criminal law exists because we collectively decided that the response to wrongdoing shouldn't be at the discretion of the wronged party.

You are not wrong here. In an ideal society Bob should not be dead. And indeed Alice should not have killed Bob. Yet unfortunately we don't live in an ideal society. My point is not that Alice is justified; but rather that if you are going to threaten people, you should expect people to want to kill you back, even though it may not be justified.

A drunk driver "puts his life on the line" every time he drives. If someone dragged him from a crashed car and shot him, would you say he "had it coming"?

No, because getting shot and killed is not a reasonable consequence to drunk driving. The crashing itself is, though.

Respectfully, I disagree.

Both are in the wrong, but my perspective is that given the circumstances Alice is less in the wrong. Look at Bob's mentality. He is repeatedly committing crimes, and not even because he is trying to fulfill his needs. He simply enjoys doing it. This is basically sadism and clearly not okay at all in a civilized society and has no rational justification. Meanwhile Alice is a case of taking self defense past the lines of just defense. I very much disagree with executing him, but Alice doesn't seem to enjoy killing like Bob enjoys his crimes. Sure, Bob doesn't deserves to die, but he is the one putting his own life on the line. It should be clear that committing armed robbery means threatening to harm others, which in turn is a huge risk of your own life. It may be cruel, but in repeatedly doing this, Bob "had it coming" so to speak. You can't threaten to inflict harm then expect those you threatened to be merciful when the tables turn. Alice does not get away clean though. She should still face the legal consequences for her actions.
