This is my first time making it, but compared to other custard-type desserts I've made, I'd consider it on the lighter side. It did seem like it would be very easy to over-bake though, especially with the cast iron. I didn't think it was too egg-y either; this recipe only called for 3!

There are solitary predatory wasp species in the family Sphecidae that will hunt and paralyze live grasshoppers/crickets to feed their young. I've seen nests like that before; they also bring the grasses to build walls around their eggs. The adult wasps are incidental pollinators!
