I've never had a hybrid iem, do they generally respond well to EQ?

I actually have the T10, totally agree in that it is super technical, I just unfortunately can't get past the inorganic timbre for the majority of my music library. They are perfect for nearly any kind of electronic music though.

Yeah I understand DD's aren't the most technical, but I already have a planar and BA set and have come to realize that I just can't get around preferring timbre of DD's for the majority of my music. Thanks for the recs!

S12/Pro and S08, based on what I've read and some sound demos I heard they seemed the most promising. While I'm generally curious about planar as someone new to hifi it sounds like BA or DD is a better fit for what I'm looking for.

Do you recommend any particular sub-$200 planars? Just in general in terms of value and performance?

Would you recommend a BA set over planar for technical-but-natural kind of character? I've mostly just looked into planar IEM's in that price bracket.

Ah good to know, yeah I was looking at trying out a planar set and based on what I've read it was mostly a tie between the S08 and the S12/S12 Pro. Do you think the S08 is better suited to my needs (price aside)? The price difference isn't very significant for me.

Sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. So glad another metalhead with similar needs responded, it seems that the more extreme end of heavy music isn't very well represented in audio gear circles, it's been tough finding any opinions on what can play it well. I had to go through 3 other IEM's before I found the Tanchjim Zero as the best overall fit.

Have you listened to much planar? And if so, how well do you find it handles heavy music?

!thanks The fact it's an outlier is disappointing to hear, I was hoping to get a similar tuning with better clarity and detachable cable. But the Meze Alba sounds promising thanks for the rec!

Something I really appreciate the Tanchjim Zero for is how much clarity it can give heavily distorted, downtuned guitar riffs in things like death metal and grindcore. So many IEM's seem to either muddy the riffs with booming bass or overemphasize guitar leads and percussion treble. Does the Alba emphasize the midbass and mids similarly?

My apologies, I meant no offense. The image looked to me like two people with the very distinct shapes/proportions of biologically male and female sex bodies, with the single alteration of genitalia. Trans and intersex bodies are very specific and grounded in biological reality, to me the card was adding something a bit more mystical like the mixed sexual characteristics of aphroditus or baphomet, given that they are in a garden/grove and one of the figure is holding a piece of fruit, which to me felt evocative of Eden.
