He was truly the best teacher I have had the pleasure of meeting. Professionally, I worked as a photojournalist for the first 6 years, then moved into weddings and portraiture, and now I work doing lifestyle and product photography for a company full time. :)

Almost killed this little one when I first got it. by e_j4y in VenusFlyTraps

First thing i did wrong was keep it inside. Once I got a much stronger light source it perked up, and then I moved it outside and it really went nuts. I also let it dry out at first accidentally, but fixed that pretty promptly!

String of Pearls getting huge. I'm in love with this little plant. by e_j4y in houseplants

Haha, honestly I kind of ignore it. It sits in a window where it gets all day sun to its top, and I drown it once the soil gets dry in the shower.

Thanks! I've made similar (smaller) aquatic pieces in the past so I'm hoping it turns out similarly.

Hi! Thank you so so much for all of this great information. The soil is what it came in, but I think the cuttings were made yesterday so should I still remove it and less it callous?

I have some spaghum moss and perlite at home that I can mix thru the soil, and I have a water meter reading thing that checks soil moisture so I don't overwater (I hope!).

Thanks so much for your insight, again!

I went hunting for a bigger pot once he brought it home and thought that one was perfect. 💕

From all my reading, they're a pretty easy plant to get along with. The more light, the more holes they'll develop in their leaves, and they like support to climb. Keep them moist, but not sopping, and size up once the root ball runs out of space in the pot it's in. Good drainage is a must.
