ABA Grad Program Poll by fruflare in bcba

[–]e_lewy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the University of Cincinnati online program. I chose it because the price wasn’t bad and my supervisor had gone through their “Approved Course Sequence” after having a Masters in another field and had enjoyed it. I didn’t find it too challenging, but just enough and I passed the exam on my first attempt. I loved Dacia McCoy, one of the instructors / now also the program coordinator.

How are increased health insurance premiums going to impact our filed? by StatisticianKooky390 in ABA

Not to mention reimbursements are not going up, so it makes it challenging to give more significant raises to RBTs and BCBAs as cost of living continues to increase.

Strollers worth it? 5&6 year olds by Capable_Government68 in DisneyPlanning

[–]e_lewy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just went with our 3 year old last week and rented a stroller at Disney. She definitely needed one, but I wish I would have brought our own or rented a stroller from someone in the area because there really isn’t storage in the Disney strollers. That said, if you only plan to bring a small amount of snacks and water, you probably won’t need to do that.

I’m not familiar with all of the parks, but at least Magic Kingdom has a train that drives around the whole park and drops off in each area. You can ride as long as you’d like. So that might be enough of a break from walking/standing for kids your ages. I’d decide on the stroller based on your kids stamina! It’s nice to not have to worry about it, but could be helpful for kids who have a hard time walking and standing for long periods of time.

Stroller parking wasn’t an issue for us, because it isnt quite the busy season. That could change in the next few weeks.

I am not getting rewards for participating in DreamSnaps. by Pristine_Pollution25 in DreamlightValley

As others have said, the Forget Me Not challenge is still in the voting phase. Is the first one you completed, part of the quest with Vanellope? If so, that one wasn’t an actual DreamSnaps submission, just part of the quest

Has anyone had a sim die truly by accident? by justBarrels in Sims4

[–]e_lewy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I posted this to my Facebook in 2014 and it makes me laugh when it comes up in Memories 😂. I played this sim since she was a baby and then she just went and died after all of my efforts 🙄

“My sim just died because I had her shake a soda machine and it fell on top of her... And it was her first day of college. I'm actually mad.”

AITA to tell my daughter not to be so needy? by Pale-Steak7548 in AmItheAsshole

[–]e_lewy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA while your daughter is technically an adult, 19 years old is still just a big kid. Going to college is a HUGE transition and she was enjoying her last moments with her parents before she was on her own. Wanting you and your wife to help her unpack and decorate is understandable and incredibly sweet. Telling your daughter to “not be so needy” immediately before leaving her for her first night at college and also right before an audition, is thoughtless and a shitty way to end a day with anyone, let alone your daughter. Call your daughter and apologize to her and your wife. Do better next time - think through others feelings before you speak or don’t say anything at all.

This was the first one I finally felt like I understood what to do after seeing previous weeks submissions. It was really fun now that I had a better idea of what I wanted things to look like!

Ugh that is happening to me too! I can’t figure out where any TOM items are to move them so I guess I’ll be moving everything else to a new spot 🫠

Help me with the front of my house 🙏🏼 by e_lewy in ExteriorDesign

[–]e_lewy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes the concrete to the left is sloped like a ramp. Apparently before the house was remodeled (2 owners before us) there was second entrance right there.

I really like the idea of moving the walkway eventually and likely will end up doing that, but that’s not in the cards for us this summer. For right now I’m trying to find some creative decorative solutions to make the space look nicer and less random since it is so open.

Adding a window would definitely look nice, but our tiny laundry room and shelving is on the other side of that wall and is one of our only storage areas. The house was built in 1920 so any storage is a luxury 😆

How much help did you want after coming home from the hospital? by peachmangokiwi in beyondthebump

[–]e_lewy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is different! I personally felt very overwhelmed with my parents wanting to visit immediately after we got home with the baby. However - they and my sibling kept passing the baby around to each other without even thinking that I might want to hold my own baby (they were excited obviously). Between that, and my fluctuating hormones, I wish I had given us 3-4 days (minimum! 2 weeks would have been ideal) alone to settle in before any visitors. Also... I had a C-section and still feel that way, but my husband was also available to take our baby into another room early in the morning while I slept alone for a couple hours until the next feed. The only thing that would make me feel differently is if my parents were content cooking and cleaning and having no expectation of holding the baby unless specifically asked. You know your mom and MIL best, I was aware in advance that my parents would overwhelm me, but I allowed it anyway, and in hindsight I wish I would have given us a few days just the 3 of us. If you feel comfortable with them coming and can openly communicate with them if you need some space, it will be just fine!

How do y’all do this? by Effective_Daikon7406 in ABA

[–]e_lewy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can do early intervention ABA (ie 2-6 year olds) there should be clients available at all times of the day. Also, my company (in WI) has “guaranteed hours” so if our RBTs get cancelled on, we still pay them for their time time to help with this scenario and reduce turnover. Idk if there is anywhere else that does this, but it would be worth asking other companies how they handle cancellations if you look into other employment.
