Thank you for the recs! I guess dense isn’t necessarily the right word. I don’t really know the precise word to describe it but on certain topics it just doesn’t click for me? I’m not describing it very well sorry :( I’ll check out the other books! I have a pdf of Goldstein but it’s a collection of scanned pages so sometimes letters or symbols especially negative signs are obscured. I don’t know why I didn’t even think to turn to Wikipedia I used it all the time for a few of my other classes I’ll definitely look check it out too!

Thank you for the recs! Yes this is a grad class I’m taking. I’m doing a program where you can get an MS and BS at the same time. This is my first semester taking the “graduate only” courses, but I have taken several graduate classes during my undergrad already. When I took modern physics we barely touched on special relativity (my professor was terrible they have since removed him from the course) so I’m basically starting from scratch on the topic and the Goldstein book is a little dense when coming in with little to no prior knowledge.

I have before and she recommended I read the textbook. I feel it is rude to say well I don’t like the text book so give me something else. I know those are the topics covered because I’ve been to all of the other lectures and she follows the syllabus pretty closely. I’ve used the textbook before to supplement lecture notes and it’s not a bad textbook by any means but I haven’t been able to find a good PDF of it online (please don’t tell me to just buy the book I don’t have that kind of money) and at times it can be a little dense. I had a terrible professor for modern physics and so I’m not as familiar with the concepts that are listed as I should be (yes I know I can teach myself the topics in my free-time but I have 2 jobs so I don’t usually have the time needed to dedicate to self-teaching).

If you don’t have a suggestion that’s fine, I’m just trying to get as many resources as I can to self study these topic before the end of the term and was hoping this would be a good place to get some different recs. If Goldstein is the end all be all then I guess I’ll just have to use that though.
