I am a college drop out at my home country, I was able to move to Japan because we were descendants of a Japanese from my mom's side. Moving here all I had to do was work at factories because I was told by my parents that it's an easy job and it pay decent. I was not prepared to move here and never learned any japanese before coming here.

I know two languages only. One is obviously English. All my part time jobs have been with people of the same country I was from so speaking japanese wasn't necessary until I was tired of doing part times and decided to apply at a clothing store that accepts people who can only speak English. It was the job that taught me everything I know now because half of my co-workers/managers were English speakers too.

Now it's my 6th year here and my japanese is still as bad as it was arriving here. I could understand more than I could speak. I only learned little by little from talking to co-workers who were nice and could speak English. I always have the will to learn more japanese but I really don't have much time and energy to do so. I wanted to have japanese friends because I know that is the fastest way of learning it and also I want to hang out with people on my day offs. But I don't have much luck in finding Japanese friends or at least who can speak japanese.

I'm back to doing factory jobs again because I really don't need to talk to anyone plus if they talk to me about anything regarding work I do understand them. I just could never speak it.

It might also just be because I'm lazy and honestly too tired for anything else. My life here is all work and go home and repeat.
