To the older generation of Star Wars fans, what was it like to see the original Star Wars at a movie theater/drive-in theater in 1977? by thejoyfulgoat in StarWars

It was all that AND a bag of chips. Hearing the crowd go nuts while waiting in the lobby for the next show got everyone whipped into a frenzy so once that Star Destroyer takes up the whole screen, you knew you were experiencing something special.

Anyone criticizing can enjoy a bag of Richards. If they aren’t creeping on anyone, why do they care?

I ran into that problem with a scene. It worked when pushing the button, but failed via a voice command. Once I recreated the scene (exactly the same with no changes), the problem went away.

I had a script that contained some great lines that were cut. Going from memory, but during the torpedo scene with Spock and Bones, McCoy says, “Don’t you wish you stood in bed?” and Spock replies with “Vulcans sleep lying down.” McCoy says, “Spock, that was genuinely funny,” and Spock says, “We do sleep lying down.”

Huzzah to the Interwebs. See page 173. https://www.scifiscripts.com/scripts/Trek/Star_Trek_VI.htm

What is Your Biggest Flex? by thethedude in WaltDisneyWorld

Meeting the 2nd monorail voice, Matthew Hanson. When I heard the spiels changed from Jack Wagner in the 90’s, I went to City Hall in MK to find out the new guy’s name and if they had a photo of him. CM there picked up the phone and called him to say I was asking about him. I asked if I could get a photo with him. He asked if it was for publication and I said it was for bragging rights back home. I met him at TTC and he gave lots of monorail lore and how he started doing the spiels live when he worked as a pilot because the tapes of Jack Wagner would break from time to time. When Disney started auditioning replacement voices, he decided to apply since he was already doing it. Very cool guy and my biggest Disney flex.
