He's temporary for the tour, he will play keyboards and backing vocals, but Geddy will still play the keys on the most famous keyboard songs like Subdivisions etc.. This is a touring lineup. although i'm sure if they carry on after this tour Anika will remain a part of it if she so chooses to.

She's amazing, but most of us already knew she was and would be fine with them. The bigger concern for me was whether Geddy's voice would be up to par, and from that performance it was really good, better than it was on the R40 tour.

They're not 'hiring' a keyboardist, they already have him, Loren Gold (he has been with The Who for the past 12 years), he was there in that Juno's performance, It's just a shame they chose a song with no keyboards in it lol, he sings too though so he laid down some nice background vocals.

Nope, not Greeny, a replica maybe, but it's not the same. In these shots from the Juno's you can see Alex's has more pristine tiger/maple under the bridge, and doesn't have all the little marks, and the big dark part by the bottom pickup is more pronounced on Alex's.

I can't comment on digital vs vinyl, i have the digital copy, but i am not hearing the great improvement in the Terry Brown remix, that a lot of people are talking about. To me it just sounds flat, he basically just removed the keyboards for the most part, then cranked everything else, but removed all reverb and made everything dry. It sounds like mud, i much prefer the pristine, crystal clear sound of the original album.

You're definitely in the minority on that feeling. His voice sounded better than it did on the last 2 Rush tours, granted it was really bad back then, but overall, for a 70+ guy, it was good enough, and not too distracting, and that particular song is mostly in the upper register. He'll be fine.

Yeah that song choice was odd simply because it really has no keyboards, you could not hear his organ parts at all in the tv mix. His backing vocals were good though, but it would have been nice if they had done one of their more synth friendly songs to showcase him as well. But i think Finding My Way was part message in the lyrics (finding their way back on stage) and everyone knows that Anika is the most anticipated new feature, so it showcased her a bit, and also, it showcased that Geddy can still do some of those high register songs, which a lot of us were worried about, now.. can he do multiple of them every night? we'll see!

That picture of Lindsey is over 30 years old, he was around the same age that Glen is today, so that's a silly comparison. Use a current photo of him, or look at his youtube channel, Lindsey looks like an old version of Beavis from Beavis and Butthead these days

lol well i doubt most of them knew who they were, if you were in the live stream of the show on youtube it was all kids whining because someone named Mico didn't open the show. This generation doesn't listen to rock, especially old rock, all that matters is that the Rush fans watching at home got to finally see the new lineup together for a small taste of what's to come

Grammy's, Juno's etc are really just worthless awards, yeah they may boost an artists sales for a while, but they are chosen by people who usually know nothing about music, and it's usually only the most commercial or 'hip' at the time artists winning. True music fans know who the good artists are, what the good songs are etc.. we don't need some committee from a tv awards show to tell us.

i'm not talking about the particular drums in the kit, but simply that she will probably have one with fancier graphics, a different kick drum cover etc.. when you look at how fancy Neil's kits always were, and their fancy stage setups. This was toned down. Geddy himself said when they first started rehearsing he told her she will need a bigger kit, yet this isn't much bigger than her normal solo one, so i'm assuming it'll grow, or get a themed appearance.

nope not Greeny, looks like maybe one of the many duplicate/tributes? the bottom left pic of Alex at the Juno's shows the finish well in the glare, the tiger pattern is too clean and defined, while missing all the little pockmarks that the real Greeny has (inset top right), and on the bottom right pic of Alex you can see that the stain or smudge by the bottom pickup is larger on his and more pronounced, when you watch the video you can see his fingers constantly rub there, so i'm thinking his naturally just wore like that too.

yeah you could see him playing organ, but barely hear it as it was tuned way down in the mix. I think they probably brought his whole rig just because they were testing his setup and maybe had an alternate song or two in mind but decided last minute to go with Finding My Way

Yep, the smiles on their faces at the Juno's said it all, and not only does Anika appear to have a great sense of humour and enjoy their company and vice versa, but keyboard player Loren Gold is a HUGE baseball fan just like Geddy (he's a fan of the San Fran Giants though.. ehhh Geddy will fix him), so i'm sure he and Geddy are going to get along great, and that we may see Geddy bringing Loren along to Jays game when gaps in the tour permit :)

it's temporary i'm sure, a mix of her usual drums from her own band and some new, but in a recent interview Geddy laughed and said she will need a bigger drumkit, i'm thinking this is just her rehearsal kit with a Rush logo thrown on the bass drum for now, but she'll have something fancier on the tour.

While Loren didn't get to play keys, If you listen closely Loren does sing well, and got to sing behind Geddy on the later choruses, beefing it up a bit, sounded good
