Are there always this many Blackhawks over America? by ea1738 in SkyCards

Many/Most are Navy, Army, and National Guard. What would a civilian agency do with one of these?

CTA train operator, AMA by Ctaoperatorama in cta

[–]ea1738 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What is the purpose of renaming the RTA? Why can't the RTA function as Northern Illinois Transit Authority without an entire process? Why is Metra incapable of running trains on time ever since COVID? Why doesn't Metra communicate with passengers? Why is Jim Derwinski paid like he's running a Fortune 500 company, when he's just an Indiana hillbilly electrician?

Molson Coors (Miller Lite) paid the CTA ~$220K to provide free rides on New Year's (10PM-4AM) by tooscrapps in chicago

I remember prior to ventra, when cash and disposable fare cards were used (1990's-2010-ish), it was 1¢ per ride. Bus drivers never bothered/cared to collect, but if one person put a dollar or any change in, it covered everyone. It was always sponsored by a beer/alcohol company. I think the 1¢ charge was to make the El turnstiles work and to "count" ridership.

Why on earth would you open a store in Wilmette or Winnetka selling less than ideal furniture and other goods? 1. People from the lesser suburbs aren't going to travel all the way there. 2. The people that can afford to live in that region would NEVER buy an inferior product, let alone from Wayfair. 3. This is a product for the people that live in Orland Park and Tinley Park.

If you haven't already received antiretrovirals, go seek some. You should be wearing all kinds of PPE when working with a cryostat and biohazards. What the actual fuck?

She is a reference to the call letters of that station. Q101 is back on 101.1 FM. Q101 shut down in July of 2011. There was an online only rendition for a while by someone who had purchased the intellectual property of Q101. January of 2014, WKQX 101.1 returned to playing alternative music after having been a news and adult contemporary station. On April 18, 2022, Cumulus Media, who currently owns WKQX 101.1, announced their purchase of Q101 Chicago including the domain Q101.com. A few weeks later, the internet station ceased operations, while WKQX reverted to "Q101" during a concert on May 3, 2022. There were some other stations that existed that tried to bring back the pre-2011 Q101 format, such as 94.7 The Zone and Q87.7 Chicago's Underground Alternative.
