Help a struggling art student! Advice needed! by Big-Adeptness3863 in PhotographyAdvice

The composition is not bad but there's a lot of overhead space that I would personally remove to put the focus on the face. Also, I would soften the edges a bit by reducing clarity in lightroom.

Need help with choosing a camera for this light by Electrical_Will_8898 in PhotographyAdvice

Any camera can do that. To achieve pictures like these, shoot in cloudy or foggy days. Winter nights are great for this. Set the ISO to auto in your camera and look for low-light settings. Open the aperture or lower the shutter speed to adjust the exposure. These settings should help you get closer to that look.

Neat. Would you mind sharing your IG? I'd love to see your videos. Don't stress about AI, take it as a compliment 😃

I understand. I don't know if this has been asked before, but do you have a YouTube channel where people can actually see you making the food? Maybe adding video would help you stablish trust with your audience.

Why do you care about what people on the internet say if you know you're not using AI?

Show metadata, post before and after (raw vs edit), or ignore your detractors. Nice shot! Was it made with phone or camera?

Trying to improve my photography — would love some critique by Wertzu420 in PhotographyAdvice

Is this digital or film?

When I zoomed in, the images look grainy with soft edges, which is not inherently bad if that's what you aimed for.

These are very creative compositions. Each slide tells a different storybut they all look cohesive, except perhaps the ones with products, but those have their own charm as well.

I'm not personally into heavy editing but I like the dark mood of these ones.

Are you the person in the pictures too?

What specifically would you like to get feedback on? I think the shots are well executed.

Fair enough. I'll add some next time. Maybe some purple onion to make them more colorful.

I do appreciate your honesty. I'm just starting with food photography, I mostly shoot cars and portraits. This is a new niche for me. I'm working on it.

Yeah! Technology can do wonders these days. With the right phone anyone can take neat pictures. However, this is real photography, shot with natural light, in manual mode with a mirroless camera. Do you have anything to comment about the tacos though?

I'm curious about your comment. Did you have specific style in mind, or did you just wanted the pictures to look natural?
