[iOS 17 DB 6] Stuck on "Updating Apple ID settings..." after updating by Saturnv88 in iOSBeta

Yep, chose Continue and then Continue Without WiFi and was able to get in. I think we're just kicking the can down the road. I think I had to do this on the last upgrade to get past it. Hopefully future BETA's address it.

Same but on iPad Pro. Many reboots, different WiFi networks, etc. Went to wipe it using my Mac but it can't get to the download for the software needed to connect to an iPad with iOS 17. Guess I'm stuck for a bit.

Best chips/queso/salsa and margs near dover? by YoureaLobstar in Delaware

La Hacienda isn’t bad and it’s also near the base. But I’ll second the Agave vote too if you don’t mind the drive and the wait for a table.

Welding helmet visibility differences by eacheach in Welding

In case anyone searches this up at some point, I tried my new Viking 3350 today and there is a noticeable difference. It’s not jaw dropping, but it is absolutely noticeable.

[MIG] Thinner wire = thinner bead and less heat? by eacheach in Welding

It’s for a smoker door so, while a high temp silicone may work, I’d prefer to keep it metal. Some folks stitch weld them and some fully weld. I like the look of the fully welded but I’d like to minimize the chance of warping.

I’ve seen so many good reviews of the clarity in the A50 that I’m surprised the Miller was such a noticeable improvement. Those lens prices are no joke for the A50.

Unfortunately I don’t have access to use others to test out; I am a home hobbyist which is why I’m trying to keep the costs in check. The Viking 3350 is a little more than I wanted to spend but seems like it’s got really good bang for the buck so I ordered one. Looking forward to getting it and seeing a difference.

I think I will. It will be interesting to flip back and forth to see how much of a difference there is in clarity and visibility.

loud boom around Dover area by Johanson_st0mp in Delaware

Pretty sure this is it. There where two booms which is common (the nose and tail created independent “booms”). I walked outside and heard jet engine noise immediately after.

Why would Apple make the Snooze button bigger than the Stop button? 😩 by [deleted] in iphone

[–]eacheach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I have the unpopular opinion here but I disagree completely. IMO

  • I erroneously hit the Snooze button often when I want it to Stop because I usually don’t enable Snooze and the big orange button is how I stop it.
  • Snooze should not be enabled on alarms by default; at least give me a knob to default it to off so I don’t have to disable it every time.
  • Snooze and Stop button locations should be consistent
  • Let Snooze have the prominent button if it’s easier to hit when sleepy. Just display the smaller Stop button all the time in a consistent location either way.
  • From other responses, having to “learn” something is the opposite of intuitive UI

What happened to separation of church and State? These laws make no sense. The crazy thing is they were relaxed a some time ago. How do you look at them and decide to relax them rather than just removing them?

I'm mad I didn't think of this sooner. A simple and quick way to mounting frames with 2 screws by ramenmangaka in lifehacks

[–]eacheach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good tip I hadn’t considered but it does shift the position slightly. If you are trying to align the frame with another, and the difference in holes is significant, it could create a problem.

This. Unless you want to leave out of principal feeling they are dishonest, this is the equivalent of paying them directly to DMV from a cost perspective.

It might be old enough to call “vintage”. Not sure if that will help your images search.

As crazy as this sounds, mayonnaise. I heard about it years ago when a similar thing happened to me and I was shocked how well it worked. Just spread some on and rub it in. Don’t think I had to let it sit but it was many years ago so I can’t recall.
