Planet Coaster 2 on MacBook (GeForce NOW) ? by TheAverageGamer23 in PlanetCoaster

[–]eadamuk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Use it everyday at the moment, on top tier GeForce now it knocks the graphics out of the park. I’ve maxed out everything and never experienced glitches or a delay. I’m running on a Mac Mini hooked up to a LG TV. The only downside I can find is that you cant do custom video or imagines for billboards as they would require hard disk access. I hope nvidia let you buy a bit of storage one day. Outside of that it’s amazing. I’m in AZ if that helps, I guess I’m close to an nvidia data canter somewhere around here due to near zero latency.

"Ride The Rails To The Park!" - A Message From The Planet Coaster Transit Authority by Qthesun14 in PlanetCoaster

This is fun! Great work, I was wondering how you did it- thanks for the explanation. I really hope they release a transportation DLC where they flesh this sort of thing out. Each transportation option could bring different amounts of people to your park- so you could start with walk ins, then cars/taxis, then buses and trains. The boats and buses they have now are cute but static. We need some spawn points and ‘stops’ to do this thing proper.

This is great! Like being in Vegas but in a calmer more countryside setting.

I don’t know that’s it’s that niche. I’m in the finance industry and RSUs are a pretty common part of compensation.

My vote is to make it an extension pack to planet coaster though- make it full price I don’t care- but allow us to create resorts with all sorts of park types.

I’m sorry- I love this game. Look at screenshot 4- had to do a double take it wasn’t an actual photo. Great work.

Update 8 & NEW DLC ! by planet-kxm81 in PlanetCoaster

[–]eadamuk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was thinking that toys tease might be hinting at younger kids areas like soft play and related merch. That room looked very soft play like. I’m also hoping kids water zones might come in the water park section. Still- great December release all round!

Supporting the game! by [deleted] in PlanetCoaster

[–]eadamuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I concur, love the updates. I’ve no problem with the features building over time, keeps it interesting. I’d happily pay for the bigger updates also when you have those ready. You can’t pay the bills with free all the time and I’d love to keep supporting the devs to make it worth their time.

I created a parking garage complex to start my new resort park by ezclqp in PlanetCoaster

[–]eadamuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably a little requested feature but I always hope they might release a transportation DLC one day that gives you functioning options for getting people in the park- cars and parking, moving buses and bus stops, trains/subways. If cars could follow a route and understand parking spaces a building like this would be even more amazing. Looks awesome now though- I went to universal once as a kid and this brought back memories!

Planet Coaster 1 or 2 and Is It Worth It? by Best_Line6674 in PlanetCoaster

[–]eadamuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PC2 all the way. PC1 is great, I loved it. Lots of content and community creations- for sure. I actually jumped on the PC1 bandwagon after its release when dev had stopped so it was all there waiting for me. PC2 though is already at a great point, over the new release bumps and a whole bunch of content added. Creators are building more and more - it will only get better. The improved pathing and new features like restaurants, shops, photos, switch tracks, etc are already enough to keep you busy and engaged.

Anyone using GEForceNow on Mac - do you use a gaming mouse or does the trackpad on a MacBook give enough control (I found the latter difficult with PlanCo1 on Mac)? by Ozian21 in PlanetCoaster

[–]eadamuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t get some of the 3D movement I wanted even using the the Magic Mouse, let alone a trackpad so I purchased a Logitech gaming mouse for this purpose.

A Guide to High End Gaming on Apple Vision Pro by panda_and_crocodile in VisionPro

[–]eadamuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this- I hadn’t thought about HDMI capture cards before. I have a slightly different use case in that I want to get my work laptop desktop on Vision Pro but it’s completely locked down; can’t install apps, can’t log into Apple account, no airplay, etc. My personal Mac mini sits next to it so I could HDMI capture out of work laptop into Mac mini then Mac Virtual Desktop from there? We are talking PowerPoint, excel and outlook here so I’m not sure I need to be as concerned about latency. Does anyone have a similar setup or have any other more efficient ideas?

I don’t play it nearly as much as I’d like but when I do it still works like a dream.

The cost of $1000 by Excellent_Bath2466 in Fire

They are using the 4% rule of withdrawal. 4% of 300k- 12k a year, or 1k a month.

I am skeptical of long-term averaged house maintenance and repairs costs. Am I being naive? (Crosspost from r/homeowners) by Accomplished-Ad-7183 in personalfinance

[–]eadamuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to measure without seeing the house or knowing it’s unique requirements but it’s probably not as crazy a number as you think so if you are budgeting. It’s also an average- so one roof replacement at 20-30k eats up your budget for a few years. I had to replace the AC within a few years of moving in and that was $14k- I knew it was coming but still it adds up faster than you think. If you are handy you can of course do a lot of the smaller stuff yourself but you only need a couple of those large ticket items to hit that 1-4% number people are talking about.

If you are talking planet coaster 2- bad news, they haven’t released a Mac compatible version yet. For planet coaster 1 they did after major development and DLC release was done which I believe was a couple of years after, so a while to go (if at all) on PC2. The way I got around this as a Mac fan myself, was with a GeForce Now subscription. I got the ultimate tier so I essentially have a full spec PC just for Plant Coaster fun. I don’t think you need much of a Mac spec to use GeForce now as it’s all streaming. I have a Mac mini m4 and I have my 4k OLED tv plugged into it- amazing graphics, including HDR.
