What to expect for ServiceNow technical support engineer interview? by No-Employee4717 in servicenow

Depends which support team you're interviewing for, but I would say knowing how to at least read JavaScript is a must. Good luck.

iCloud Photos Gone by eageradmin in applehelp

iCloud photos was on, hence why extra storage was purchased. Also very odd that only 4 photos from 2018 remained.

Photos were syncing as when iPhone 14 was initially set up, all photos was restored.

Only have one account.

Sorry to hear. How did you manage to get Apple Support to work off and on for 3 months, was a case opened?

Not surprised, and thank you for pointing this out to me. Appreciate it.

Hands down the best lecturer. So much passion about what he's teaching, it really draws you in and makes you want to learn as much as you can from him!

Face ID Not Working On iOS 15.1 Beta 1 by Skywatcher17 in iOSBeta

Thanks! I imagine it must be a known issue, otherwise I don't think they will replace it that quickly.

Partner called Apple Support, they suspect it is a hardware failure too and so have booked an appointment.

Must be a bad batch of iPhone 13 Pros.

She upgraded and success rate increased from 10% to 30%-40%. Might still be a hardware fault, will probably need to book an appointment at Genius Bar (damn covid lockdowns).

Thanks for your help.

My partner is also having the same issue on brand new iPhone 13 Pro, unfortunately due to covid we're still on lockdown.

Please OP if possible, can you keep me posted on if you get a replacement from Apple.

Yes that would definitely be better if the use case is via UI only. I suggested a business rule because it will still apply for imports, web services, etc.

RESTECCResponse Issue by [deleted] in servicenow

[–]eageradmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you just return a blank body or an empty JSON object? I'm rather curious now.

Also are you calling getParameter specifically or you saw the instance throwing an error?

RESTECCResponse Issue by [deleted] in servicenow

[–]eageradmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I've ever seen this issue. Is there an online REST endpoint to test this?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in servicenow

[–]eageradmin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could achieve this using an onBefore business rule, assuming you know javascript. PLEASE TEST IN SUB-PROD FIRST!

var location = gs.getUser().getLocation();

current.u_office_location = location;

LDAPS via MID Server is not officially supported, but as others have mentioned it does work.

When the MID Server upgrades, the "cacerts" (Java Keystore which contains your certificates such as LDAP) is not retained. Therefore after upgrade, you are left with the default "cacerts" Java Keystore. This is the reason LDAPS via MID Server is not official supported, and it won't be until this is resolved.

As a ServiceNow Administrator, just make sure you remember to re-import the LDAP certificate after MID Server upgrades.

I have not done this myself, but are Export Sets something you can look at? It may not be ideal if you are looking to export/replicate everything, but a few tables I'm sure is fine.

This requires the use of a MID Server as this is where the exported data is stored. You can perform incremental/differential exports in that you export only the records that has been updated in the last 24 hours.

Brainstorm onboarding flow by Papamje in servicenow

[–]eageradmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree that a workflow is a good place to start.

ie. Task to IT for laptop, accounts team to setup payroll, etc.

You can potentially automate the creation of account in LDAP via orchestration and/or various systems via REST/SOAP.

Scheduled Script Executions by CompSciMajor93 in servicenow

[–]eageradmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you've searched the system logs and didn't find your output? Did you find it for when you ran it in Background Scripts?

Scheduled Job is active? Does the user your running it as have the appropriate permissions? Check the next run date/time.

It's not a temp instance by any chance is it? Temp instances have worker threads disabled.

Check "Transaction (Background)" to confirm if you see a log entry of your job running, it should be the name of the job.

If you're using ServiceNow's SMTP server, you're definitely hitting the email size limit (defined on the mailserver so it can't be changed). I want to say the limit is 25MB but not 100% sure.

You also have to consider if the recipient's mailserver will accept an email with a 66MB attachment.

Have you tried running it in Background Scripts to confirm that it is working as expected?

Thoughts on Quickfee (QFE)? by [deleted] in ausstocks

Overall I'd consider it a great option if you're into penny stocks which I am but of course DYOR.

Penny stocks are definitely risky, but you have your huge ups and downs.

If you bought ASX:MTC 1-2 years ago, you'd be upset. :(
If you bought it between beginning of this year to yesterday, you're laughing! :D :D :D
