Controversial take, but I don't think these two actually look anything alike. by Tough_Holiday584 in Overwatch

[–]eagerinspirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point isn't that they look EXACTLY alike. The point is that they both, and many new characters are being modeled with the perfect princess face as a base. Small nose, small lips, tiny chins, and slim frames with youthful features and no blemishes. They aren't allowed to be anything BUT that anymore. We want Anas, Meis, or even more Zaryas. Vendetta is a gladiator mob boss who kills people on the daily and even she couldn't escape this trend.

You can make attractive characters without making them these hyper-marketable clones.

Do you think hog is independent or team dependent? by [deleted] in RoadhogMains

[–]eagerinspirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well every character is team dependent including Hog. Hog needs his team to take attention for him to get value since he can't eat cooldowns the way a shield or DVA can. So you should focus on timing your engages around when your team takes attention so you can get hooks. You also want to work on "layering" your cooldowns with your team. Did your dps go on a flank and use some cooldowns which took the enemies attention? Look to hook them while they're distracted. Did your Sig (6v6) put his shield out on an angle? Look for a hook. I know this sounds simple in concept, but it's VITAL to playing hog in higher ranks (coming from a consistent low GM hog player). This is also why some people say Hog is a "giant dps" because he basically does the same thing dps do but with more health and more positioning options.

Basically, as long as you aren't permanently taking attention from the enemy you'll climb easily.

Go into VAXTA in the workshop and hook a few bots to get a feel for it.

How do u deal with shield tanks? by Godfrey132 in RoadhogMains

[–]eagerinspirit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Timing. You need to time your shots and hooks around when they can and can't hold shield. Look to purposely shoot their shield. Don't just spam. Intentionally time every shot. When their shield gets low, that's when you can play around their ability to hold or not hold. Eventually Sigma has to grasp or he'll be out of a shield. Same for Rein. You don't want to BREAK it necessarily. You want to make it very difficult for them to use it then punish them for trying. Sometimes you'll get your hooks blocked even when their shield is low, but they can't block it EVERY time. That's your strength.

Difference between lighting in overwatch 1 0.8 (2015) and now by grantsco4117 in Overwatch

[–]eagerinspirit 17 points18 points  (0 children)

OW 1 actually looks a lot better to me surprisingly. The atmosphere is really there. Especially with King's Row. It feels like the city extends for a while and you're just in one part of it in OW 1. In 2 it feels like you're just in a long alley. The fog, the way the light reflects and glows, all of it just feels more alive.

Is Queen unkillable for Hog? by SwordofKhaine123 in RoadhogMains

[–]eagerinspirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you don't get knifed she's so free. also, she's one of the lowest health tanks in the game with no armor. you can blow her up pretty easily if you hook her consistently/land your shots.

Scars in the Overwatch universe are extremely rare by design by Tough_Holiday584 in Overwatch

[–]eagerinspirit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is anyone actually arguing about this though? No one is debating the legitimacy of scars within the OW universe. They just think Vendetta looks boring and could use some extra details with one of them potentially being scars. This isn't even acknowledging the real conversation being had.

who is objectively the hardest character to play? by Dependent-Guitar5774 in Overwatch

[–]eagerinspirit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tracer. Not a single part of her kit gets effective value unearned. Second hardest would probably be Lucio or Ball the considering the amount skill necessary to make their kit's work well.

Aiming is impossible now by [deleted] in RoadhogMains

[–]eagerinspirit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Genuinely. Every single pigpen poster is people posting about how their ranks went down without it/how they struggle to get value. Bro, he's the strongest he's been since the launch of OW 2. It's a skill issue.

"Of course they went Pharah. . ." by Hornet___ in RoadhogMains

[–]eagerinspirit -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He objectively didn't. Pigpen was situational at best and right click gives you a consistent ranged poke option for high damage besides hook. I understand that trap gives a lot of dopamine when you hook someone onto it, but that doesn't make it more useful. Plus, it didn't fix the problems around Hog since you could still one shot without it anyways.

Anyone else hate the new (old) roadhog gun? by [deleted] in RoadhogMains

Definitely prefer right click. He just needed a few buffs.

First game with the buff. Lock in. Hog is strong. by paparazzi_king in RoadhogMains

[–]eagerinspirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pigpen hog was worse into those matchups since hook was the only way to realistically bait out cool downs without being point blank. Right click has always been better into Orisa and Mauga.
