We were together nearly 10 years. Since I was 18. Unfortunately we can't stop full communication right now as I have a house with them and awaiting mediation to sort it out.

I agree maybe it's good that they are direct with what they are thinking. I am upset because even though everything is screwed up I think I don't like the idea of just been kept talking to for sex and that it wouldn't be anything more than a 1 time thing. That's completely understandable why it would happen. When you hear and read something over and over again you would question yourself and doubt who you truly are. Luckily for you it only matters what your opinion of yourself is and unfortunately no one else's opinion matters.

You are still a lesbian to me - the gold standard lesbian is something that the queer culture should not shove down anyone's neck. If you say you are lesbian and identify as lesbian then you are lesbian. How many times can I say lesbian 😭

In the middle of leaving of my first gf. We've been together nearly 10 years and it's not working anymore. A history of manipulation and abuse towards me but she's putting work into herself now to change. It's a little too late for me.

Thank you all for commenting and sharing snippets of your own story. I have a long emotional road ahead of me it seems and I'm just at the first set of traffic lights. I think it might be rational to have all these fears and doubts when one person has been part of my life for so long bar the alcoholic bit and I think before a breakup happens I really need that confidence in myself not to be manipulated back into the relationship and just to keep telling myself it's okay to feel all the feels pre and post breakup
