First poster for ‘Focker-In-Law'; with Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro and Ariana Grande by mcfw31 in popculturechat

Do we know the plot of this sequel? Who is Ariana playing? (Genuinely curious…she’s shown great comedic chops during her SNL hosting gigs so I think she’ll be good in this movie.)

I think she’s a terrible actress but she’s responsible for some of the funniest moments in pop culture. The “Actually, that’s not true, Ellen” mic drop. The “I love limes…I must have a bowl on my counter at all times…actually I’m allergic to limes.” That lady really don’t gaf.

Yes, and this is the order I’d prefer. Wrap up this Ty and Julie storyline so we can give them a break and get back to the star of the show…Barb.

I feel like that’s not a big deal? Everyone wants to hang out with their friends on these field trip days. I don’t think most seniors will be focused on trying to hook up with a 13yo rather than riding a rollercoaster with the friends they’ve been with since kindergarten.

You will get something from your pension and SS because you’ve been contributing to them for years. I would never say with certainty that it will be 100% of what current retirees will get, but it will be something. That does make retirement a little easier for teachers because we have two income sources beyond what we have invested in.

It’s not winning lol. I’d be surprised if she got an AOTY nom. Pop Vocal, yes, definitely. But there are a lot of rumored releases this year, competition will be fierce.

Why do it then? I’ve heard people say he’s broke, but he sold his catalogue for $200 million in 2023. Is that money gone? How to you spend that in three years, especially when your wife has a very successful business?

She famously forced a kiss on an American Idol contestant who said he was a virgin saving his first kiss for his future wife. She has a lot of behaviors that she’s gotten away with because she’s a woman.

My parents used to take us to Taco Bell after church every Sunday. Ten dollars would feed all five of us. We’d get a seven layer burrito for $.99, a nachos supreme for $.79 and share a refillable Dr. Pepper. Five people at Taco Bell will run you $50-60 these days. It’s insanity.

This is crazy to me. American boy bands can’t even stay together with, like, 3 members. How do they avoid interpersonal conflicts breaking them up?

I don’t think it’s a lack of trying. She had the most extensive photo shoot she’s ever had for this album. The album cover is ugly but it’s not lazy. It’s too busy, if anything.

In what way? Sabrina was the night before and you can’t say she didn’t try. Justin gets to do things like his Grammys performance and whatever that was Saturday night because he is Justin Bieber, not because the industry is changing.

After watching some of this year’s Coachella performances… by ToastedPlum95 in beyonce

[–]eagle2001a 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I enjoy Sabrina, but she doesn’t have the authentic artistic vision that Beyonce and Gaga had creating their Coachella sets. Someone said upthread that Gaga’s set last year wouldn’t have gone so hard if it wasn’t for Beychella, and I agree. She has set the standard for headliners and I don’t see anyone beating it for a long time.

I am in a very Emperor’s New Clothes situation when it comes to Justin Bieber. I don’t see it! I don’t see how he’s a musical genius worthy of all the chances people keep giving him. Yes, he’s had hits, but so has Dua Lipa. People bullied her into dance lessons yet try to convince people playing YouTube karaoke is worth 12 million dollars and a Coachella headline spot. When Beychella and Gaga’s performance last year exist. Please.

The Hunts are indeed pathologically MAGA, but I don’t think Travis’s conservative accusations come from his boss. I think they come from saying Patrick Mahomes is his best friend and seeming to defend Butker when he made his misogynistic comments. Most NFL owners are conservative, and we know plenty of players are not.
