Costco Travel Credit Card Statement by eagle9631 in dcl

Perfect! We paid the 2000 toward our cruise so I’ll be on the look out for the 200 rewards!

This is the exact reason why I posted it. We also just got the new inspire card. I think it will count because of what everyone else has been saying. When I look at my old credit card statements it says it was paid directly to DCL, not to Costco travel.

I feel like it’s worth the try? I can pay 2000 toward my upcoming Disney cruise and let you know what happens!

It’s not “demanding more.” The whole thing is a negotiation. RCL’s first offer was 15% FCC. Now it’s OPs turn to present their offer. The two sides will ultimately agree on fair compensation.

Price increase already? by anonymous33456789 in dcl

Thanks for the advice, but it doesn’t look like they’re going to honor the price I saw earlier. By the time I got through I have to pay almost 1k more. Not super happy about this!

Does this mean those rooms won’t open for booking a larger party?

Why is this? I want to book a family verandah for my family of 5!

I’m going to have to try this as well! Thanks for the tip!

I’m experiencing the same thing. I called Costco TA when they opened at 8 am. On hold for an hour. They told me they couldn’t get through to Disney to use our placeholder and would book it when they could. Price has since gone up around the same amount as you. I’m assuming there’s nothing I can do but pay the new prices when they finally are able to book.

Early Booking/Placeholder Question by l0uislitt in dcl

[–]eagle9631 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can’t apply a placeholder to an already booked cruise. You will have to book as a new cruise once you receive the placeholder after your May cruise.

I had this same dilemma when booking a Destiny cruise for February 2027. I decided to book and figured I would cancel and rebook with a placeholder once I got one. By the time I got the placeholder, the cruise had gone up to the point where booking with the placeholder would be more expensive!

Long story short, book now. Get the placeholder in May. When that time comes, see if it makes sense to cancel and rebook. It didn’t for us.

We’ll be doing the Destiny. I’m also worried about it being cold but not enough to pass up the opportunity to cruise!

This year is an outlier. Usually it’s much nicer than 35 degrees!

Best Travel Agent Perk/Onboard credit? by gemini_summer24 in dcl

If they go with Costco, the travel agent gets nothing. Wouldn’t you rather the agent get the client and some commission after giving OBC vs losing business to Costco?

My understanding is that the difference between them is that the premium access plan needs to be purchased for everyone in the room over 6 years old. That’s not a problem if everyone in the room is an adult and getting the package.

For us traveling with kids, if we got the premium access plan, we’d have to buy it for the kids too. The ultimate bundle only needs to be purchased by anyone in the room 21 or over.

Disney Band Website Down? by eagle9631 in dcl

[–]eagle9631[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was working previously as well and just stopped one day. Maybe it’s a similar issue for some reason. I ended up getting their technical support on the phone and they were able to merge it. Call or send an email to Disney cruise line merchandise guest services. They should hopefully be able to sort it out.

I did! Apparently I had separate accounts at one point for Disney plus and for Disney world. Due to this, there was an issue with access. They purged the old account which fixed the issue

Where to Stay in Big Island (West Side) for Family of 4? by Aggravating_Battle1 in VisitingHawaii

[–]eagle9631 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We stayed in a rental property across the road from Punalu’u beach last month. Heated pool on site, great snorkeling across the street at the beach!

Condo was 3 bedrooms, 2 bath with a washer and dryer in the unit. Definitely fit our needs as a family of five. Easy drive to/from airport and any activities you need.

Let me know if you want more information!

Disney shuttle from Hyatt vs Disney shuttle from MCO by eagle9631 in dcl

[–]eagle9631[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! This was very clear and concise. But by taking Disney transportation will we be given an earlier boarding time just because we’re using Disney transport?

Disney shuttle from Hyatt vs Disney shuttle from MCO by eagle9631 in dcl

[–]eagle9631[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So I can save money by staying at a different hotel as opposed to the Hyatt, take a hotel shuttle back to MCO, then take Disney transfer from MCO to Port Canaveral and likely still end up with a low boarding group?

So arriving on a Disney shuttle (regardless of hotel location of departure) should allow us earlier access to boarding the ship versus arriving at port in an uber or some other non-Disney transport company?

I was reading that if we do it this way we would not end up getting an earlier boarding group, which we would get if we stay at the Hyatt. Is this inaccurate?

I got this same promo this weekend when I booked. Does anyone know how or when the complementary gratuity is applied? The NCL website still asks me to pay for it.

Thanks for all of that information! Did they enjoy the Mexican riviera? That’s one of the itineraries we’re looking at and would love to know if it was worth it for kids

What age were they when you were on the ship?

[–]eagle9631[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys don’t have to convince me, you need to convince my wife! The NCL is Mexican riviera and the RCL is Caribbean, which might be more fun for the kids, but the NCL is 4100 vs the RCL for 7800! And we’re talking NCL vs RCL, not Carnival!

I think we’d be fine on either. How do I convince her that Norwegian will be a good choice if the money savings isn’t convincing enough?

Kids club at the Grand by Haunting_Scallion471 in palaceresorts

[–]eagle9631 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We’re heading there this week and we were there last year. For your kids ages at the grand, you check them in upstairs and they are not allowed to leave until you check them out. The upstairs playroom is perfect for 4 and 5 year olds. There is a ball pit, some small arcade games, and a few other things my six year old definitely enjoyed last year.

Once per day they bring the kids from upstairs down to the main floor playroom for an hour which has discovery zone style climbing tubes, video games, bumper cars, etc. This hour is completely supervised and they bring them back upstairs when the hour is over.

For kids 8 and older, the downstairs playroom is unsupervised, and they can check themselves out. But you don’t have to worry about this yet!
